Having completed boat repairs, (after last weeks near log collision) it was time to get out and do some fishing.
Decided to do an early morning outing on the 17. We were on the water by 0330. A few bites, overall slow action. Dropped my partner off at the ramp so he could head to work at 0830. Fished till 1300. One small channel, one bass and one really good run but the hook was thrown.
Did see one small flathead caught as I was on my way to head home, looked to be about 6-7lbs.
Decided to head out today the 18 for a couple of hours in the afternoon. Managed to catch 1 channel. 5.6lb.
Went through a lot of bait. they were smashing my live suckers and leaving me with only pulped heads.
Anyway not the best fishing but the river is still high, the weather was good. I look forward to doing some evening fishing this weekend.
