I currently belong to a local fishing club here in the Mpls area, and they have multi species tournaments for its members, but they are a draw for partner format.

The wife has expressed interest in fishing some of these smaller tourney’s with me, unfortunately this won’t happen at this club.

So… does anybody know of a local club that has these lower keyed tourney’s and you can pick your partner??

If you’re willing to travel to Mille Lacs, Hunter’s Point and Mac’s Twin Bay host couples tournaments each summer that are pretty low key.

Both come with a free dinner which is a nice perk.

Exactly what i was thinking. My wife and I have fished the Mac’s and it was a lot of fun.

Thanks all, weather and Milacs is always a problem, especially with the wife, but with the bigger boat it might not be so bad.

16′ Fisher, 45mph winds and rain so bad you couldn’t see 50 yards was the wife’s last trip up there…but we’ll work on her..:)

Not sure if you are into Bass fishing or not. If so Fishers of Men runs tourneys that has a seperate Male/Female standings. You fish the same tourneys as the Men/Men but the standing are keep seperate. It is a well run and fun tourney series. If interested check out their web site http://www.mnfomwest.com

I like the torunaments that Evert’s puts on, Like the freeze your butt off, sagerama, and such, real low key and usually pretty fun, though the weather is a bit of an factor.

If you did the Mac’s couples tourney, you might not even need to leave the bay and at most you can just go a couple hundred yards and pitch the anchor. I’ve seen people never even leave the dock at the Hunters tournament and they still had a good time.

Thanks, Full Throttle might be a bit more than the wife and I would spend at $200, but might be fun with someone else, I’ll look into these, thanks again.
