It was a nice day to be on the ice again on sunday. With the bright skies I was anticipating there would be a good pan fish bite. There where plenty of panfish on the marcum but the biting part was a little off. After spending most of the day looking for active fish about the middle of the afternoon I was able to put together a couple of presentations that would trigger some bites. First of was taking a diamond jig with a waxie and pounding bottom with it. Then lifting it up about 6″s to a foot and letting it sit. Second was again with a diamond jig butthis time letting it hang about 3′ under the ice and jigging it ever now and again. If a fish came up that high to check it out there was a good chance to get it to bite. It was funny to see fish onthe screen for most of the day and if you dropped a jig rite to them it was a very tough to get them to bite.
Still seemed to be plenty of good ice on the lake yesterday. Not near as many people as a few weeks ago. Anyone else been getting out.
