Fished a lake NW of mora this afternoon for crappies and pan fish. It was a little breezy out but that didn’t stop the crappies from bitting. Set up on a spot between 2 points that divided a shallower section of the lake from its only deeper hole. Was a little surprised the 1st holes drilled where on fish. From 10 to noon pulled about 15 crappies from this spot in about 12′ of water. After noon the fish had moved on. Moved 2 times to find deeper water and it was back on fish again. As today was not a good day to be hole hoping I was happy it didn’t take alot of work to stay on fish.

Started out fishing glow demons with euro larve and found a few fish. Then switched to a pink/white ratso and that was pretty much it for the rest of the day. Havent fished one of these in a long time and it sure was sun catching crappies and not having to mess with rebaiting the lure after each fish. Hanging the Ratso 3′ over the crappies and then just giving it a nudge ever now and again got them going. It was fun to nudge the line a couple of times and watch a crappies come flying up to smack it.

Kept 10 nine to 10″ crappies for dinner tomorrow night but caught most likely 3 times that. Was a little suprised they where going so when with the weather the way it was today. Hopefully next time I can get into some of the big sun fish this area is known for.

Anyone else been out around mora lately? Heard there was a contest of fish lake over the weekend.
