Fishing after the storm…

I have always loved fishing right before a big storm, but with the strange weather that we have had this summer might the big storms that we had last night in the metro be just what we needed to get a bite going? I am planning to fish for muskies tonight and was hoping that the crazy weather last night might shake things up a little. Any thoughts?

I think you may be in for a good night. about 2 weeks ago when it was 90 almost all week I was up north didn’t have much luck at all until the day after a storm rolled through, then I the fish all day filled my crappie limit, moved on to the Pike, killed the pike for about 4 hours, and moved on to Walleye, and with 3 of us we fell short of our eye limit by 2. It’s been a weird year so at this point I wouldn’t expect good or bad, and just see what you end up with.

The more things stay the same, the more things stay the same I’ve had some very good days that were post cold front, blue bird sky, brisk North wind kind of days. Not much else seemed to be moving but the Muskies were active. The type of day I’m refering to happened after a hot humid stretch of weather like you described.

Good luck and let us know how you did!

Beautiful evening on the water. Only got 3 hours of fishing in. No muskies, but 4 decent pike with one at 33.5″. I will try to post a pic once i get it emailed to me. We also messed around for bass for the first 30 minutes and got 6 bass, so the fish were definitely active.

Nice looking fish I think it’s time to see if my partner in crime is done playing with his new baby, and want to get back on the hunt.
