Heading to Big Stone.

    Hello all..my wife and I along with two other couples are heading to Big Stone this Friday Sat and Sunday…Ive never fished it and we are camping just outside of Ortenville right next to the water(I think)…Ive heard its good for Walleye but does anyone have any recommendations for bass…also as we are all bringing campers we will only have a deep/wide 14ft boat…think we will have any problems gettin around with it?…thanks for any advice…Jay

    Plenty of weeds. I would spend most of my time by the islands for the bass. There is an acces on the SD side inside the islands to use. I believe there is a walleye tourny out there this weekend.

    That boat of yours should do just fine. Unless of course you get a 20 mph wind from the north. Then the waves have over 20 miles to roll and roll by the time the get to the south end.. Beer is tasty on that end of the lake as well..

    Good luck! Reports are appreciated.. Especially if you get a chance to troll for some eyes.. If the bass fishing isn’t happening, try pulling raps in the evening. Number 5’s did well in the spring but i’m not sure how deep the weedline is this time of year.
