fish racist!?!?

are all fish equal? about 2 months ago me and 3 of my freinds went up 2 red lake. ended up catching about 80 wallys give or take a few. My friends talked of the trip as failure no crappies!! I could not believe what I was hearing. last year on a metro lake me and a friend were fishing muskies he caught a 18 lb northern. he was upset you would have thought he caught a virus! I could not believe it. had it been 18lb ski he would have been moonwalking across the boat! I guess I dont get it. And if my buddy reads this next time you got a 18 lb northern on. hand your rod 2 me Ill take that problem..

I think they’re looking at it as a failure because they didn’t catch the fish they were targeting. Like going goose hunting and only getting ducks! Sure they’re fun to catch or shoot,But not what they were looking for. To me there is no such thing as a failure trip when your away from home and catching fish.A failed trip is when you don’t have anyone to help drink your beer!

But LMB are only an acceptable *accidental* catch during spring crappie fishing.. any other time of the year, an eel is more welcome!

Yeah, I don’t get that either. I’m big into walleye fishing and I have some buddies that only fish for smallies and LMB. I get a kick out of it that they give me crap that walleye fishing is an old man’s sport because it’s boring and a good day is catching 3 or 4. My response to that is compared to hunting. Nobody says deer hunting is boring but a good season can be 1 animal! So are they saying that squirrel hunting is so much better than Whitetail hunting because you can bag 10 in a day?? I’m for quality not quanity. But either way, fishing for anything with buddies is fun for me.

Any fish, any time. That’s the one I want to catch.
If I get skunked, well, it’s just part of growin’ up.
I know Beer snobs,Music snobs,Food snobs,Fish snobs,the list goes on…
I don’t think any of them will die happy.
Being angry or overly disappointed because you caught the wrong kind of fish is like blaming a compass for pointing North.
I have personal goals and dreams. Of course I want to catch the trophy, or whatever I’m targeting. But if the day ever comes when I can’t enjoy just being in a boat, or standing in the water waving a stick, please, someone, push me under and hold me there.
