If it is the Island Lake near Northome, I fished it for many years over Memorial Day. We caught some great fish in the spring. We always camped out on the island. The DNR has a potty there and everything! Anyway, wind is key on that lake. Fish the side where the wind is hitting and you’ll cath fish. Lots of humps and rock piles. A good map of the lake is key. They north-east side of the island is real good at dusk. The south west side of the island has a long hump that can be very good in the morning. Afternoon was always spent on the south side of the island working slow over and around the many humps and inside turns. Live bait was always better but not sure right now? Hope this helps!
