Hi, I’m trying to help so I do not want you to think that I am a smart [censored]. If you use Fireline, even in the 6 lb. type, you will not be able to break it off even if you get hung up. You can pull a freight train with it. I only use it for trolling because it has very small diameter and sinks down fast. I do not use it for anything else because if it gets hung up you will have to cut it. You have to use the right knots on it. I tried an improved clinch knot and lost some plugs. When using the Berkley Knot it will never slip or pull out. I do not know what you are fishing for but I am guessing must be big fish. Again, you cannnot break 6 lb. FireLine. Good luck to you and good fiahing!

I guess the first question is where are you going Sturgeon fishing at. River and state. If you are fishing like Pool 4 then easily yes. If you are going to the famous Columbia in Oregon then definately not. Let us know first where then we can help a little more. FF
