I’ve heard of some lakes up north (Lake Superior area) producing some HUGE Brook Trout. Does any one know of these lakes or have any info on them?

    Thanks

I used to live up in Schroeder, Mn. There are a few lakes inland from Lutsen where we would catch Brookies nearing 5lbs. Haven’t fished these lakes in probably ten years or so but I would assume they are still productive. Only problem is getting into them..basically 1/2 mile to 2 mile walks through the woods.

“Coasters”…Big Brook trout that live in Lake Superior are routinely caught up to and over 10 lbs here in the Upper Peninsula, but they are a different species than the inland brookies that rarely top 18”.
Canada has stocked some lakes that are now producing huge Brookies that are in the 7-10# class.

Allright… I’ll name one of the lakes. Wee Lake Just north of Crescent. Huge brookies in it but good luck getting there. It’s a [censored]. My personal best out of that lake is 4lbs. 3 oz.
