Pelican Lake

Does anyone know anything about Pelican Lake near Ashby? Like fishing and boating and resorts?

Our cabin is on the lake, so I may be able to help. What time of year are you interested in?

AUGUST 5 for a week. We need a resort with two available cabins, a camping spot, and will allow dogs on leash. My Son found Indian Mounds resort if it has available cabins and camping for that week it fits all those. My Son likes water skiing etc as well as fishing. My wife, Daughter and Daughter-in-Law like to be close to a larger town like Alexandria. I can’t get them to realize that when you go on a trip like that we don’t need to shop

I just wonder how the fishing (all species) is and what the lake is like.

A friend of ours use to own Shady Lawn Resort on Pelican in Ashby. It has cabins and camping. Was a great place when he owned it… not so sure about the new owners, haven’t been there since they took over.

I have been staying at Ashby Resort on Pelican off and on for the past 12 years. The resort is well kept and the owners, Mike and Diane are excellent folks. It has one of the best fish cleaning facilities I’ve ever seen. They have a boat launch right there on site. They have several options for lodging.
