Finally had the chance to take a day and get out on the water. The debate was do I fish Pool Two or go bass fishing on Chisago. Taking my son to school today he gave me the best advice. Go bassen, the river is only going to get better and better through the fall. Glad I took his suggestion!

I spent the day throwing spinnerbaits in the bays and points. I ended up getting over 20 bass with the biggest came in at just under 5 on the scale. What a beutiful fish! Most of the fish were in less then five feet of water though I tried a variety of colors, sizes and blade types. The fish seemed to want a tandem Colorado blade with a white/yellow skirt.

What a great day, warm, great color and some nice fish. Hope to get out again this week-end.

I’d say the young man put YOU ON THE FISH. So this weekend you better rig him up and take him out, and prepare to get schooled. Have fun. Any pics???

No pics. We did get out this afternoon. The bite was slower, we ended up with 5 bass with the bigest about 3 pounds. With the shallow bite slowing I started working the outside edge of still green weeds. With a slower spinnerbait presentation I just couldnt get him to slow down enough. We did work plastics, etc without success. I think this was my last bass outing for the year; the past two days have been a great way to end this part of the season. Its time to focus on the rivers.

    Thanks
