Just wanted to say howdy, I joined a few days ago. I don’t see any threads for my area but if I can be of any help let me know I’ll try my best. By the way I don’t paddle a canoe anymore so I don’t pay much attention to whats going on inside the BWCAW.

One of my favorite areas how are the snow conditions this year?
I have not fished much up there other then the BWCA. And an few trips to Tate LK up the Caribu.
In my opinion it’s the best snomobiling in the Midwest.

How is Devils track doing these days.?
    What lakes do you fish…?

    Welcome to the forum.

    ggoody,
Plenty of snow up here. I do most of my fishing in the mid-trail area, East Bearskin, Hungry Jack, and Flour. With occasional trips to Loon, Gunflint, And of course Sag. I don’t really do much on Devils Track.

    Welcome GF!

I wish I got up to your neck of the woods more. I have not been up there in about 3 years ! Gorgeous country.

    Welcome Gunflint!
I see you kept the same name. I’m mm over on the other place. There are quite a few of us dual citizens. In fact Dark30 is online right now as I type this (probably talkin’ catfish). I think you’ll like it here.

Welcome to IDA gunflint…..it’s been some time since I’ve been up on the trail also. I have been to a number of the lakes along the trail……also have been to the Floor Lake “Honey Moon Look-out”!!!!!!! I really miss the area now after writing about it. I stayed at the Rockwood Lodge on our Honey moon………now thats a few years ago!

Glad your aboard…….hope to hear more on the Gunflint Trail area! We could add a Gunflint Trail forum if we had enough interest?

    Ryan D,
I will have fished gunflint a few times by the time you get up here. As you probably know gunflint is a deep clear lake and can be challenging to fish at times. Alot of factors go into how best to fish it at any givin time. If you get ahold of me a week or so before you come up I should be able to give you some good info. Good luck.

Yes the construction is done. By the way it’s 33 degrees at 5:03am if this holds for a couple of hours it will be the first night since November that we stayed above freezing.
