I’m looking for a resort in the Walker area (about a 30 mile area). We stayed on Woman lake a couple of years ago, but didn’t have much luck with the fishing. I have also stayed on Big Winne. I’m going with my wife and another couple. We may be taking our two year olds, so we need something that is more of a family atmosphere and offers some easy fishing, as well as a lake with some good walleye fishing. I would prefer to stay on a smaller lake.

hoyt, my family spent about fifteen or more years in a row on 11th Crow Wing lake in Akeley, about 10 minutes from Walker, at Crow Wing Crest Resort. The lake is about 800 acres or so and has a good walleye population, they can be really finiky at times but there are some big ones to be caught. Mom got one 12lbs 6oz about 12 years ago. It has nice cabins and lodge area, nice beach and pretty kid friendly. Also has nice bass and sunfish populations. I think there e-mail address is crowwingcrest.com ? Hope this helps

Crow wing chain is good. Cass is probably ideal. There are a ton of lakes connect to Cass to fish if you dont like the big water, lots of pike, muskie, eyes and perch-no slots. Pike bay is about 1000-2000 acres, connected to Cass by a shallow channels, never more than 2-3 boats on it. My friend has a trailer at Stoney Point-nice resort w/ relatively cheap cabins. Bar/restaurant and nice grounds for families, harbor for boats.
