Age 27, Married (Kim), No Kids, 2 Dogs (Mischke & Lou). Live in Coon Rapids Mn for the last 6 years. I am a licensed stock broker (independent), Technical Project Manager (Lighthouse Document Technologies, DT MPLS), and I work part-time at Trail’s End Pro Bass in Fridley MN. I also run a guide service with my best friend and fishing partner Bob Bowman. I have 93′ Alumacraft Competitor (17′) with a 60 Yamaha pulled by a 03′ Chevy 1500 HD Crew Cab. Bob runs 03′ Alumacraft Tourney Pro (185) with a 90 Yamaha pulled by a 03′ Ford F150 Crew Cab.
Started fishing when I was 3, learned the basics from my Dad (hooks, sinkers, bobbers, bait and trolling). Since about age 12 I have made a serious effort to improve my fishing through learning, from print, practice, and communicating with other people. I fish for just about anything that swims, but focus most of my attention on Muskies, Bass, and Walleyes. I spend most of my time fishing around the state of MN, but usually manage at least one trip to Canada a year. My favorite lakes are Mille Lacs, Cass, Leech, and a small private lake in Aitkin. I am also an avid bird hunter (ducks, pheasants, grouse)and I bowhunt for bear and deer.
This will be my second season guiding and I look to In-Depthangling.com not only to improve my fishing through the sharing of information but to gain more name recognition here in the state of MN for my guide servic.
I have many goals in my life, but one very close to the top is to fish every day for the rest of my life. If I can
figure out how to make a living fishing, I will die a happy man. I see this site as another contributor to my goal. I
enjoy this site, no B.S., no politics, just fishing. That is why I have taken a more active role than normal in regards to participation (posts/reports etc), with this website. There are many good people here, that are willing to learn and share with each other so that we may all be better at what we love to do.
Tony Carnes – Pool 16 Mississippi River
Tony Carnes, formerly known as EvilEye if memory serves me, has been fishing and taking people fishing on pool 16 of the Mississippi River for the last 40 years! Working in conjuction with our other pool 16 reporter Tony Apisa these guys should be able to do a great job keeping us all up to the minute on this productive stretch of walleye and cat water and with the RCL Championship headed to their neck of the woods this fall we know plenty of people will be interested in what they have to say!

Jerry Radke – Ray’s Resort on the WI River
Ray has only been with us on IDA for a short time but he has proven himself to be a very helpful and willing to go the extra mile for an angler in need of a hand. Located on the WI River near Sauk City, WI Jerry Radke at Ray’s Resort will most certainly be a huge asset to anglers looking for consistent fishing reports & condition information from this stretch of the WI River. The walleye, sauger and muskie bite has been pretty darn impressive on this body of water this summer so if you’ve been interested in fishing this area but you didn’t know where to start, Jerry’s your guy here on IDA!

I’m 42 years old and I love to fish and hunt. I’ve been fishing since I can remember and come from a family of fishermen. My dad and I used to run a baitshop when I was a kid and I now run a fishing resort & baitshop on the Wisconsin River. I am mainly a walleye fisherman but do enjoy fish all game fish. With my position I also see and talk to alot of other fishermen from the area and I hope to provide informative reports on fishing in the area base on this knowledge and in return get more people interested in fishing this area.

I am 44 years old, married with 2 girls, ages 10 and 12. I work for 3M Company in Cordova, IL for the last 24 years. My title is Process Specialist. I live in rural Fulton, Il, within a stones throw of the Mississippi, which fuels my fire to hit the water as often as possible! When I found this site in 2001, I was a fledgling walleye angler, with only basic knowledge and experience. I have learned half a life time of techniques, fish finding skills, and general knowledge in just a few years thanks to this site. I have begun to explore the tournament fishing world of late, but will not be able to pursue it vigorously until my girls are a little older. I believe I have become a well rounded walleye fisherman thanks to this site and a strong desire to learn all I can!
My primary goal with In-Depthangling.com is to give back to others all that has been given me over the past few years and into the future. I very much enjoy being able to help people, both locally and over the net, to find and catch fish successfully. I also plan to promote catch and release strongly, especially pertaining to our pool which has come under much heavier pressure over the last few years. I am also entertaining the idea of starting a part time guiding business at some point in the future.
Joel Ballweg – Lake Wisconsin & WI River System from below the Prairie du Sac dam to Wisconsin Dells Dam

46 yrs old. Married, wife Nancy. No children. My wife and I built a log home in the country just south of Sauk City which we share with our dog Finley. I’m a life long fisherman. My two oldest brothers were guides years ago and I tagged along when ever possible. Our dad started us all out fishing in the old days with nothing more than can of freshly dug worms and a cane pole. Even as a young boy, I was always extremely interested in anything I could get my hands on to learn more about fishing. I have fished on the Wisconsin River system from just below the Sauk Prairie dam up to the Wisconsin Dells dam since the early 1970’s where my two older brothers showed me how catch walleyes on jigs in the spring and fall and troll with
spoonplugs to catch them on Lake Wisconsin during the summer months.I have a personal goal of doing my best at keeping up to the latest techniques and equipment used to catch walleyes and to not only be proficient at using them but to know when best to apply them. The internet and especially sites like In-Depthangling.com have been a great aide in that quest. Fishing the RCL Walleye Tour this year was a huge learning experience as well. I learned a great deal about what it takes to be able to catch these fish in and extremely competitive format while fishing on different lakes and river systems and many times, in very harsh conditions. As a guide I hope to be able to share and teach others what I’ve learned over the years. Especially about the waters of Lake Wisconsin and this stretch of the Wisconsin river system.
Kyle ‘Lindy’ Lind – St. Croix River

I love to fish and spend as much time on the water as possible. 90% of the time I am on the St. Croix but I also spend some time fishing the Mississippi when the Croix is closed and some other area lakes. I grew up fishing the St. Croix River spending most of my time chasing walleye, musky and bass.
I’m attending college headed for a degree in fisheries and communication or business. This is my first year as a guide so I am just trying to build a good name right now.I look foward to joining IDAs’ field staff as I believe it is a great oppurtunity to advance my business and develop relationships with other great anglers on the best fishing website there is. Hopefully I can help IDA in its cause of connecting and educating anglers!
Jeff ‘AppleCanyoneJeff’ Reifsteck – Pool 13 Mississippi River & Lake Geneva, WI
Jeff Reifsteck hs been a regular contributor to the IDA websites for years and has proven himself to be a panfish guru… if you want to catch big crappies on Pool 13, often exceeding 1.5 – 2 Lbs, this guy knows the way and he’s no slouch with the bass & walleye either!

I am married for almost 19 years, and a father of two. Although my wife and sons support and get excited for me about fishing, they don’t share my youthful enthusiasm for it. I thrive on learning, whether it is professionally, or personally. I have been going to college for 22 years. Even after graduating, I kept taking classes to continue learning. Professionally, I am a network engineer for a
health system in Illinois.I have been fishing as far back as I can remember. I grew up on Pool 13 fishing for crappies. Back then it was cane pole, bobber, and a hook with a minnow. When I wasn’t fishing the big river for slabs, I was chasing bullheads and carp on the Apple River. My brother and I would carry our 12’ Jon boat, our gear, and a 4 hp motor over two miles from the house to the Apple River to chase carp. I still fish Pool 13, along with Apple Canyon Lake. I also really enjoy fishing Lake Geneva, but don’t do it as often as I would like. Geneva is a very difficult lake to learn. Perhaps, the challenge of learning it is what is so appealing to me.
With regards to my relationship with In-depthangling.com, I have found the site to be a great tool for learning. I enjoy the fact that the members, visitors, and staff comport themselves in a mature and professional manner. I hope to be able to teach as well as continue to learn from the site.
Joe ‘JoeK’ Kalvig – Spirit Lake, Clear Lake, East & West Okoboji
Joe is an experience angler with a serious case of the tournament bug! His travels take him far and wide but when he’s not fishing competitively he call some of the larger lakes in IA home.

I fish about 15 tournements a year targeting the RCL League tournament as well as the GNWC IA and other local events. My success as a tournament angler has improved each season with the last 2 years being pretty decent to me. I run a guide service with Clear lake being my home body with weekend trips availible to other waters in the area. I like to fish all species with walleyes being my primary target!
