Can someone verify. If it is lawful to use sunfish in WI, and it is lawful to harvest bait for use in the same body of water in both WI & MN, it would then be lawful to use sunfish caught in MN from the same body of water on the WI side even if it is not lawful to use sunfish in MN? I have scoured the regulations & find no mention of this being illegal. I ask this after discussing regs. with a few cat fishermen who catch their sunfish in Lake Winona. (Connected to the Mississippi)
Wish I knew were to find bullheads that aren’t 6$ a piece.. I hate stepping on toes & treading along the “gray” laws.
If lawful as I presume, if the sunfish limit is 25 from where they were harvested, is it illegal to have 25 in possession (harvested from where the limit is 25) on the same body of water where the limit is 10?
Eg. you catch 25 below the spillway and then start fishing above the spillway?
I do not know the opinions of the DNR officers in my area regarding sunfish. I see them patrol both sides & have no clue which laws they follow. (More liberal, both, or whatever side they are patrolling)
