Redtails

Anybody able to get any redtails yet? looking for some for the weekend, will pay the $ and make the drive if needed.

Northern Bait in Park Rapids is usually pretty good about having them. You might give them a call if it’s not too far out of your way

Check the bait shop on hwy 8, Mikes bait I believe it’s called.

I spoke to Swenson’s bait in Hackensack and he gave me the run down on the Redtail situation. He said they are using one of the first to get redtails and the rivers have been too high with runoff to get them.

He had a friend who was coming up to Leech to fish the Leech Lake Tournament from Iowa. I guess they called about every bait shop from Iowa to Walker and couldn’t find them.

I guess they run about two weeks after the shiner run in the Brainerd area and the shiners just started to run.

I know nowhere in Detroit Lakes, Brainerd, or Leech lake areas has them….

That’s what I got too, was just wondering if anybody somehow got some, or knew of somebody that could. they are like gold when it comes for some of those tourney’s…
