There might also be a shortage of bait this year just due to the freezing out of minnow ponds??

    I have a question!

On Winni, it was reported that TWO zeb villagers were found by sampling a year ago. From that, this lake has been assigned “Infested”.

Since those TWO little zebs were found, the sampling hasn’t produce ONE more villager or zeb for that matter. Why does it take 5 years to have the lake removed from the list of “infested” lakes?

VHS. Why are there laws specifically pertaining to the transmission of VHS when it’s a well documented disease (at least further South) and it’s know to pop up ever 15 years or so, run it’s course with mostly rough fish and then go away again for another 15 or so years?

Where are the studies that show testing bait fish helps curb VHS infestations?

Cast Nets. If a cast net is used in a infested water, why can’t it be used in the same infested water as long as that’s the only water it’s used in? Where is the threat of moving (any) AIS or ANS to another body of water?

That’s all I could think of off the top of my head.

    Good luck Carroll!

Biff, the more I find out about VHS the more I’m finding out it is way over hyped.

No surprise there. Never waste a good crisis.
