Hey everyone, I am new to this website as well as the area. Moved here about 7 months ago from WI and I am really excited to catch some MN fish out of these pristine waters. I heard from a guy that the Vermillion River out of Hastings is a good spot for crappie, pike, and walleye. Any suggestions as to where to fish and if anyone has had luck out there this year? The help is much appreciated being new to fishing these waters and all.

    Thanks,
    Justin

Be careful down there. There are springs and current. Fish with a buddy. It’s mostly northern but I have caught crappies and gills down there. I’ve seen a few walleye swim through but never catch any in the winter. In the summer they get them below the railroad bridge.

It has been many, many years that I use to fish there. If I was you I would stick to the lakes around that area. Current and springs are not to be mess with. Good luck!!!
