Big Canadian Pike

    Here’s a 43″ 23# pike I caught on 6/21/2004 near Atikokan. Took a photo and released her!

    By the way, I caught this fish on an 1/8 ounce jig with a twister tail while fishing for walleyes using a light spinning rod and 8 lbs test. It took about a half hour to land it. What a blast!

    Here are a couple of more pike.

    Got this 38″ same timeframe in canada….

    This was a 43″and 21.5# that a partner caught. Can’t locate a better pic right now.

    These 2 were from a group of 8 pike that were 38″ and over, all caught in a 5hr period. They were GORGING on the small male ‘eyes that were stacked in a sanctuary that had just opened that weekend.

    Nice! CPR encouragement and practices could bring monsters like this back to more the home waters!
