Pepin probably has the best big fish potential for you in terms of Northern at least.

Generally anything big won’t be easy to find.

If your ok with going to Iowa…

Clear Lake is an option and fish by the grade in the little lake for starters

Lots of Muskies in that lake

Maybe try Bald Eagle up near White Bear Lake. Got a nice 48 incher out of there before. Some other good muskie lakes in the Twin Cities area also.

Be sure to Bring hook cutters, long needle nose, and a large Muskie net if you plan on targeting muskies… All nessicary tools for a proper CPR.

On another note, I’d say try any lake in the twin cities. I have always said that the metro is the easiest place to catch a muskie. Cast buck tails to weed patches and you should have some luck.

You don’t mention whether you’ll be shore fishing or in a boat. If you have a boat, I’d head right to Wabasha and hit the backwaters and weedlines along moving water. There are a lot of super nice fish coming from that area even with the higher water temps.
