Hello i was looking at lakes to fish for walleye when i am around little falls MN and i narrowed my searched down to Alexander lake. I need some help though. i do not fish much for walleyes during the fall and i have never fished this lake. I was wondering if anyone could provide any tips on how to fish it. I am going to be fishing during October 24-26 and i am more looking for some nice eater walleyes to take home. I already got one tip to fish with jigs around the islands and i was wondering if anyone else could help me out. I am not looking for exact location but just some tips and techniques on how to fall fish on Alexander lake, If you have any info that could help me please respond. PM me if you want. Thanks.

I don’t fish Alex but do fish a few lakes close by and with the water clarity I haven’t had much luck during the day

I fished this lake for the first time this year in early August, so i don’t have much for information in the fall. The local bait shop told us not to even fish for walleyes until late evening as the water is very clear. We tried anyways, and managed (1) 18″ walleye in 20′ of water on the east shore. We swtiched gears half way thru the day and focused on bass. We found fish on most wind blown points and even a couple around the islands, with a couple bass in the high teens and one at 21″. At that time, there were bass, pike, and nice blue gills all mixed together. They preferred anything in chartreuse or crawdad raps. I would guess late in the year, you would find all these, fish along with walleyes up in the shallows along wind blow points.
Hope this helps some, and I do know its one of those lakes with potential to kick out some big fish. Good luck!!!
