Anyone been on Pelican lately?

Has anyone been out on Pelican chasing eyes or panfish lately? My wife’s family is having their annual family reunion up there at the end of next week, which means I’ll be running around the lake for a couple of afternoons at least . Any insider information would be appreciated as I’m a Pelican lake rookie. I’d be happy to offer insights on some Hayward WI area lakes if that will help. Thanks in advance….-BT

For anyone heading to Pelican in the next little while: we found most of our walleyes on deep sand points, 20-25′, on jigs with leeches or fatheads (~ 2:1 preference for leeches). We also had a suprise shallow, daytime weed walleye bite that accounted for a few fish, including our largest (24″). The water temps are still in the mid 60s. Bass are coming into the shallows, crappies appear to be done spawning and the sunnies are starting.
