Has anyone fished this lake before? Heading up the first week of June and wondering what to expect! Mainly targeting walleyes and crappies but any info would be greatly appreciated, techniques or locations! thanks

The fish im holding in my avatar is from that lake. My dad has also taken many nice fish from the lake as well. The water is very stained so the walleyes are still active in shallow water during the time you will be there. They might slide down in the water column a bit if the sky is clear and sunny, but for the most part look shallow to find your fish at that time of year.

Thanks for the info guys…I have 2 older guys going with that don’t fish alot…any kind of a bobber fishing bite available on the lake? Typically take these guys to Canada and the can catch all they want under corks without to much effort…hoping thats an option for them on Birch too! Thanks again!

If they dont fish much, slips might help with frustration, as it is a very rocky lake and can eat up alot of jigs. I have seen people have some success with slip bobbers on some of the few sandy areas of the lake at dusk. I personally havent used them much out there, but thats not saying it wont work. Good Luck!

I just noticed where you are from. I will be down near you this weekend, 6 of us are staying in redwing to fish pool 4. Some of the guys I am going with fished the river earlier this spring and were also co anglers in NWT last weekend. they said the bite has changed a bit and slowed down, any local insight you can give with the current river conditions in exchange for some exact fishing locations I can give you on birch I can send a PM
