Anyone use these I’m looking at a Lowrance Elite 7 HDI it looks like a tremendous value but I’ve been a Lakemaster fan for years and concerned about the switch, but I’m equally concerned about switching to Hummingbird to stick with Lakemaster. What does everyone else think?

I have not used the insight mapping however they all use the same information. I think the insight will be just fine, I was in the same situation. I am still running Lowrance. But I also have some lakemaster chips that still serve my needs. I think the insight will take off once a few people start trying it. Lowrance has a better sonar in my opinion which is important.

Picked up the insight 2013 last month. Looks good on the boat in the garage on my HDS 8. Have yet to use it on the water yet. Damn snow!

My kid just got the Elite 7 with the insite pro map chip. Store said it was the same data as the lake master and we wanted to go with lowrance. Got it home and it looks good, matched up some waypoints and they were “on” so far so good.

Good to know the waypoints match up, thanks.

Same story for me. I got the Insight 2012 Pro for my HDS 5 and it looks just like a Lakemaster chip but with community fishing holes and bottom composition labelled on some of the bigger lakes. It’s basically all of Lakemaster’s data up to 2011 compiled into 1 chip.

Before I bought the chip, I went to scheels and asked them to put it into one of their units there so I could look at the lakes I fish on.

My real question is, is it accurate, I have found Lakemaster very accurate on the depth contours, no way to tell that looking at the chip on a unit in the store. And since Hummingbird bought Lakemaster I’m certain this is not Lakemasters data from 2011, but if I can go right to the inside turns on the edges of place like 8 mile flat on Mille Lacs that what I’m looking for.
