In-laws booked a week long vacation on Lake Norway by Wilmar and New London, MN. I’ve never fished outside of WI or boundary waters. Any tips on what to target there? The website shows walleyes. I’ve only fished them in the river – best way to fish them in standing water? Would like to get the kids on some fish. I know I have to only use 1 line. Thanks in advance! Not looking for anybody’s best fishing hole – just want to speed up the learning curve.

We’ve got a place on Games Lake, and the two are connected by a channel. Norway is a great lake. It can get busy on weekends, but there is quite a bit of water. Anything in particular that you want to target? I can be a decent walleye lake (my bro-in-law does alright). It has some good-sized pike. Bass numbers are alright. Panfish are usually pretty decent. There are lots of HUGE carp. There are tons and tons of sheephead. No lie. They have an annual sheephead tournament.

I’m not a big crappie nut, but I know there are pretty good numbers in there. When’s your trip? Spring is usually good for pannies. Walleyes–follow the boats! Lots of guys pull Lindy rigs for eyes.

June 10-14. Maybe the gills will be spawning.
