1st trip up there so far this year. Bite wasnt to bad. Started out midday with more lookers than biters. The few sunfish I did get where nice sized. Maybe 8 or 9″s. Towards evening the bite turned on. Lots of sunnies but the size was off for most of them. Up to this point all of my fish hit gill pills and a checki lure with euro larve. After breaking those off was left with a ratso scrounged from the bottom of glove box. In the end it worked out well as there where crappies mixed in the sunnies and the more aggressive action of the ratso got them going.

Looks like I need to stock up on another jig or two now. Try not to keep to many on hand as they rust or get lost. Throw in one good panfish rod to. Snapped the tip on mine that has been going strong for about 4 years now. Tough trip on tackle but still fun sitting outside this afternoon on the ice.

    Nice report Mike

Sounds like you had a great time…Makes me think I should try ice fishing at least once this season.

That funny ken. Your report from today makes me think I ice fish to much. Now with my only decent ice rod broken Im thinking that may be a sign.
