Small river smallies and eyes

I fished a small river fri,sat,and sun. We started out chasing smallies but after picking off a few eyes in less then a 1 fow we started working the few holes we could find and picked a few more. Got back on the water late Saturday morning and picked up where we left off Friday night. Ended up keeping 5 eaters for breakfast for my parents. By 1230 when we made the run back to the truck we released 8 smaller eyes a few 20+ and had my buddy lose one that was atleast 25 boat side. We didn’t keep track of how many smallies we boated but with the small fish of the weekend being 17 and my biggest for the weekend being 19 7/8 . FLUKES ON A 5/0 Hook with no weight out fished everything else we tried for smallies. We even picked a few eyes up working the flukes on top for smallies. A 1/8th oz jig of any color and any color pastic other then chartreuse caught eyes in every hole on Saturday. Got my step dad out with me on sunday with it being much slower then fri and sat. We caught a few nice smallies and 3 smaller eyes and one eater. Over all it was a perfect weekend trying a new river. Only ended up with a broken ducer,one new dent,and a beat up prop on the trolling motor.

The water levels on the river i used to access the one i was fishing dropped from fri to sun. The one i was fishing the flow and level came up along with the amount of debris. The amount of moss coming down sunday might of been part of the slower fishing.
