Finally got the wife and I off to Waconia for a bit of fishing yesturday, beautiful weather and a bit of a chop to help.

We started for walleyes off one of the reefs, but found panfish hitting our crawler rigs, wife was happy just catching fish so we stayed in about 15′ of water and she used a crawler rig and I switched to a crappie tube bait, sometimes tipped with or with out a minnow, didn’t seem to make any difference.

No size to them, but the wife was having fun..:)

Between some of the reefs and on the way back to the launch we did see fish marking at 25 to 28 fow, just wondering, these maybe the walleyes we were looking for???

Nice lake, been years since we’ve fished it, the boat traffic was down and we had a nice day on the water.

Going to go back soon, any tips on crappies or walleyes?

The fish you were seeing on your graph were sheephead.

    x2

I was out there last night muskie fishing and talked to a couple of guys walleye fishing and they said that they were catching lots of sheepshead.

Thanks much, not so much for me, I’m used to not catching fish, but the “look” I get when the wife doesn’t catch them is getting a little scary…
