According to the DNR’s news release, a total of 3,800 hunting and trapping licenses will be available for the two seasons. This is 500 more licenses than the 2013 seasons. The statewide target harvest of wolves is 250, which is 30 more than last year.
I drew a license in 2012, the first season since delisting. I entered for the early season, which was a tactical error on my part because my area is heavily hunted during deer season and I think this makes the wolves even more wary. This time I’m going after the late season. Trail cam pics from last winter have shown some promising areas, so here’s hoping I can draw a tag.
