Hopefully Billy G can keep fleecing all these GM’s with these historic trades. They saved more cap-hit and get a 5th round pick (we give up a 7th rounder) trading him vs buying him out…they all can’t be headline grabbing trades, but I would say this helps us rather than hurts us. Dubs has been a headcase the past few years and spaces out alot on the ice and lets in soft goals.
Time to move on and see what we have in Kappo, make a long term goalie decision in net a year or two down the road. I do think they try to get a veteran cup winning goalie via trade or cheap fa for a year or 2 contract, somebody like a Fleury/Crawford/Holtby to teach our young goalies the ropes and how to prepare like a champion.
So basically the same thing the Wild did for Bjugstad. Yeah I get it they are not all headline moves. Actually hoping their is actually head line move.
I am not saying Dubnyk should be in there long term plans but saving 2mill and change for this season isn’t accomplishing much at this point except moving on. Well I guess technically it is paying for Carson Soucy first year of his extension.
So which is it you want to see Kappo or another FA veteran. Can’t really do both. Unless they plan on carrying 3 goalies.
