Zuccs is back tonight. Hopefully he is better, he clearly hasnt been skating well?
@joeMX1825 you have an Athletic subscription correct? Or to anyone who has one…
Russo is doing these “From the Source” podcasts and they are very entertaining. Check em out if you havent.
Boudreau, Carter, Guerin, etc have been on thus far.
I think they are free too, so you may be able to find them regardless of whether or not you have a subscription.

Yep, I listened to the Guerin one, it was good

Just another drubbing of McDefenseless & Co in a good 3 period effort, probably the best of the season so far.

    What’s happened to Doob?

Great to see Staal get his first goal of the season and follow it right up with his 2nd 2 minutes later. Hopefully, Doob is not out for long, did he hurt his back?

What time & channel were the Wild playing on last night because the team I watched I haven’t seen before… Holy cow did Greenway ever get destroyed, hard to believe no teammates dropped the gloves to protect players last night after a few of the Oilers were trying to take heads off most of the game..

It looked like he hit the back of his head hard on the ice, those goalie helmets have just a small plastic piece on the back, zero protection… My guess is that he and Greenway will be in concussion protocol for awhile…

That was a phenomenal game from start to finish. Hunt and Dumba blasting from the point on the PP is a thing of beauty. For being old and slow they sure pushed back on a much faster team. It sure does seem as though the Wild have Smith’s number. He has never played well against us at least that I can recall.
Dubnyk is going to be out a while I am afraid. Fitting that Greenway has his best game of the year and then he gets trucked and will probably be out as well.

Maybe I’m way off here but was Dubnyk trying his patented goalie interference acting job and ended up landing awkwardly and whipping his head into the ice?

Man it gets old watching him do that anytime anyone taps him. (Got hit a little harder last night).

That’s what it looked like to me as well, yes he overreacts and then acts like a toughguy all the time, but he’s a nutjob goalie so what do you expect?

Yup! although Fleury seems like alot of fun!

I would love to have the Flower on this team. He would steal us a game or two for sure.

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of potentially bringing Grigorenko over from the KHL next year with Kaprizov (Russo and Guerin talked about the possibility on his last podcast) I’m assuming he wouldn’t be that expensive, but that’s a big assumption only based on his limited NHL experience. He’s a young (25) big bodied (6’3″) offensive Center and would help the Kaprizov comfort factor as he spent many years in the states already and they’ve been playing on the same line the past 2 years..

Just looked it up and Cole Caufield has 6 goals in only 4 games for the Badgers…Matt Boldy has 1 goal in 4 games for BC… sure hope that choice doesn’t turn out to be a nightmare for the Wild long term…

For those hoping 2018 1st round pick Filip Johansson would turn it around after last years nightmare season keep hoping…he’s played 15 games sofar this year is a -5 and has 0 points and 6 penalty minutes…

The 3rd Rounder (Beckman) is lighting it up in Spokane though. So maybe that will make up for some of the lackluster play of others. I still like the Boldy pick myself. Yes, Caufield can score, but we need a Center in the worst way and I think Boldy can turn into a solid top 6.

Things are now looking up for Filip Johansson, yesterday he scored his 1st professional goal (weak wrist shot that deflected in) and also had an assist…he literally doubled his career points in 1 game )

same sold same old last night for the Wild…Guerin has to have an itchy trigger finger to start changing this team in the direction HE wants it in…

I think Guerin is going to hang on a bit before making moves. He’s publicly stated he owes this team a chance to get better on their own. Never said how long they have however. Boudreau stays through his contract unless he asks to get out imo. This team is what it is right now changing coaches will add nothing. Might as well wait until you make whatever moves you can then bring in a new coach to work with the new look.

They played well in the first period at least but it’s the same old bug-a-boo. Pucks will not go into the net! This lack of puck luck has gone past a full season now and there is just nothing much a coach or player can do other than keep working at it.

No reason to get rid of Bruce. Maybe if the team wasn’t playing up to expectations, but that ain’t the case.

Guerin needs to sit tight and sell for picks and prospects at the deadline.

I am betting on the recent History of the St. Louis Blues Stanley Cup Championship path, and feel like the Wild are on very similar trajectory as last seasons champs.
    toast
If that includes jettisoning the current Coach before the end of November, then it’s goodbye Bruce.

Sad when Nashville consistently has a better hockey team than “the State of Hockey”

Tarasenko is off to surgery and will be out for 5 months! The window is open! Now’s our time to go for broke!

Sell away all those worthless draft picks and STACK THIS TEAM NOW, while Parise, Stall, Koivu and Suter are all still in their prime.

Youth and speed is overrated, let’s get some EXPERIENCE on this team for pete’s sake. Old and gritty, preferably with 5-6 years left on their contract to keep the window open.

    Let’s gooooooo

Epic melt down last night. Once Dallas made it 3-2 you could see the body language of the Wild said they were already beaten.

That was one of the worst losses I can remember. Up 3-0 late in the second, give up a goal in the last minute and lose 6-3!? Pathetic! 3 of the goals went in off our own players and 1 was an empty netter so there certainly was some puck luck there, but good lord.
Soucy will not see the ice tonight. He played well for the most part, but he single-handedly gave up the puck multiple times last night and at least one led directly to a goal.
Hes come a long way, so he will be back after tightening that up, but you just cannot cough up the puck at the opposing blue line. Get the puck in deep.

Time for Guerin to blow it all up…get as many picks as we can and unload all the salary we can, hope to god we get a top 2 pick in the lottery…

side note how about that Svechnikov goal last night for the Canes! I believe that’s the first ever “Michigan Goal” scored in a NHL game? (and he did it the much tougher “Scoop Style”)

That is an insane goal. I believe NCAA hockey banned it after the guy from Michigan did it years ago but obviously still acceptable in the NHL.

banned? I don’t think so…it’s a perfectly fine play if you can do it, it just takes having the ballz to do it in a live game… very similar to Grannys goal in the World Championships years ago…the scoop technique hides the play alot more vs the actual “Michigan” curl and lift

Just awesome to see it done!

some player just did the actual Michigan goal in the Swedish Elite league a few days ago, but he also did it with defenders on him, just sick…

Total and just awful collapse last night. Now you could point to the fact that the Team Rustlers had 2 goals go in off Wild players to say that puck luck was on their side, however…

That just proves the effectiveness of SHOOTING THE DAMN PUCK and ON NET. How many freaking times do the Wild shoot and just plain cleanly miss the whole net. Dumba did it 3 times, Zucker missed over the crossbar, just miss after miss after miss where the puck is zipping by not inches wide/high, but FEET wide or high.

Also, I have to say that now we have to acknowledge just how truly awful Fecktard Fenton’s trades last year really were. Fenton literally executed 3 of the worst trades in franchise history and in a row. Sorry, but time’s up on the “give them time” mantra, it’s time to call BS on that. Fenton effed this team in a way that is unbelieveable. I would say Donato stall may make a half decent 3 or 4th line guy, but the rest of Fenton’s trades were total giveaways and the league will be laughing at us for years for Fenton’s incompetence.

Absolutely terrible play by the Wild in the 2nd and 3rd last night. Just awful.

Bad puck luck good puck luck I’m so sick of that…when do they make their own luck? U cannot compete nightly when you rely on damn puck luck let alone compete for a cup..make your own luck by hitting the net once in awhile…and if they wouldn’t have turned it over and could clear the damn zone those 2 goals off a wild player would never have happened…i can’t believe Guerin even took the job r anyone for that matter..it’s gunna take years to even make them relevant again i hope leipold sees that and gives the guy a chance based off his first few moves …tank throw it away get as many assets as you can hope for a top 2 3 pick and start building next year w kap and whomever else they can get their hands on…its so hard to watch a game and just laugh my butt off and how absolutely terrible they are I mean how do you not laugh you can’t even get mad about it

Exactly. Been that way for years, hence the frustration. This team was doomed long before Fenton.
