They really haven’t changed much with their Powerplay and they are now getting goals? it’s a bit perplexing…I did notice the play from Dumba down to Coyle who one times the pass to Staal in the upper slot worked several times but didn’t result in any goals yet…that’s the most creative I’ve seen the Wild powerplay in years…

Dubs strong play has really bailed them out of terrible starts, they need to break that habit as they can’t sustain coming from behind all the time…

Hopefully they can pull a win at the Ducks tonight, there’s something about the way the ducks play the Wild at home (overly physical) and that damn foghorn that gets to me…

I haven’t looked yet but I’m assuming Stalock gets the nod tonight because of the back to back?

Hmm, look at that. The team that I was told needed to be blown up is doing pretty damn good.

I see a Mn vs Bolts final in our future. Sorry if this turns out to be a curse.

There’s that p word again. Let’s enjoy November.

He has to talk about something. Not much to say about his Blackhawks besides they suck.

Playoff flop? His Blackhawks would have to have a miracle to even make the playoffs.

Jeff H is one of thousands of Hawks fans that wish they had a team as good as the Wild. Talking smack about the Wild gives them something to do besides keeping track of the improvement in Kane’s golf game.

Uh oh. Ottawa goes up 2-0. Tampa scores next 4 and leads 4-2 after 2. Lose 5-4 in regulation.

    Enjoy the curse, you’re next.

You might be much better off starting a thread on The Whitecaps, where
your thoughts could be original, unrepetitive, and uncluttered.

The NHL it seems is far to complicated for you.

5-2-0 on a tough 7 game road trip, I’ll take it! They are playing very well right now and its fun to watch. They are staying healthy, Duuuuuuuubs is standing on his head, Granlund is a freak, and the Wild are winning games. They are 3rd in the league this morning, to Tampa and Nashville. Can’t ask for much more than that. 17 games in and the Wild have 24 points. Most ever in Franchise history this early into the season. GO WILD!!!!

They are looking pretty good all around; Granlund looks like he may finally have that break out year.

Hard to pick from the many things that are going well for the Wild right now. Taking 5 road wins out of 7 would be a feat even if it wasn’t 7 road games in a row.

What I like the best about the last 7 games is the Wild don’t have to play like their pants are on fire to win. They are out there playing their game and don’t have to be constantly pushing too hard.

Both Zucker and Grandland have had some sweet passes lately. Also, Parise is officially back. Doobs is playing very well, Staylock has been terrific in backing him up as well.

Not much not to love about our team right now. Just gotta avoid as many long-term injuries as possible, that’s the thing that worries me every time somebody blocks a hard shot or gets into the boards hard. Want to put more Ws on the board and avoid losing key players as in years past.

Tough way to come home, though. The Great 8 and the Caps are in town. Stay out of the damn box.

Greenway has been noticeable since his short stint in Iowa too. 2 goals, 3 assists since.
Team is playing great and the most refreshing part is its pretty much the entire lineup can get credit for this streak. It isn’t just relying on the same 2 or 3 guys game in and game out. 14 guys scored on that roadtrip. That is impressive!

Great road trip and I did see some of the Wild/Ducks game. Wild looked good, like you said some great passes between Zucker and Granlund. This is the kind of play expected from a team with this talent – hope they can keep it up.

The ONLY negative I’ve seen over this stretch is that Coyle’s confidence is completely gone again…he’s invisible on the Ek and Greenway line picking up a phantom 2nd assist here and there, but most of his decisions with the puck have been just terrible…I really really want him to succeed but it’s just not happening…not sure what else the Wild can do about him? If Kunin can get back to top form soon in Iowa, maybe it’s time to cut bait with Coyle?

I just have this fear that you trade him for nothing and he turns it around and becomes a good player we regret letting go….

In other words, typical Coyle, then? With some grit added in the shape of Seeler and Folino, we don’t need the “big body” who’s just taking up space.

Sorry, but I can’t see regretting parting ways with Coyle even if he does play better because the Wild get something else by moving him down the road–cap space. Not a huge amount, but it could make the difference in terms of opeinging up trades or signings they couldn’t otherwise make.

I can see several players in Iowa that with a little seasoning would be more than up to the task of replacing Coyle’s production. Kunin, Anas, and that Cal O’Riley is looking good and has put up 15 points in 13 games, leading the team.

Whatever it takes, move him down the road.

This just in, the Caps are really really good (surprise to nobody)…If the wild scores on those two shots that hit the pipe in the first period this would have been a much different game, but they didn’t and the Capitals pounced on mistakes and lazy play. Coyle had several wtf moments with the puck again last night…

We owe the Canucks some paypack tomorrow night!

Very poor puck management last night and at the worst times. The Caps scored on all 3 big lapses.

As mentioned a little puck luck on those metallurgy saves could have made it interesting but the Caps are dangerous if you make mistakes.

I cannot believe Coyle is not driving Bruce crazy. Every good opportunity he has he botches the pass or shoots into the middle of the goalie.

I suspect it will be another 2 years before Bachmann gets another start. Wow, he was terrible.
Dumba continues to impress. Coyle and Nino AND Koivu scored in the same game? Who would have predicted that?
Good game top to bottom, but the Canucks were clearing not in that game. Lots of injuries and long road trip and horrific goal tending deflated their sails early.

Good to have a good game when there’s a should-beat opponent in town. Also great to see (gasp!) 2, yes, no really, TWO goals in the first period.

I really hope Nino is getting back on track. Please, please, if the Wild could get him back to being a 20+ goal guy, I think we would really give some shallow-defense teams fits.

I have to confess that when the announcers said Parise was out of the lineup, I fell to the floor instantly moaning, “Noooooooo. Not again. Noooooo! Not again.” I guess they did clarify later that the Wild say it’s illness not injury and something about not buying day-old markdown supermarket sushi again.

Coyle had his 1 good game in 20, so unfortunately we have 19 turds to sit through and complain about again…

I seriously think Fenton in hoping he gets on a hot streak so he becomes more marketable…same goes with Nino… what can Coyle do that Kunin can’t? (please don’t say use his size and be physical…)

As I predicted 2 weeks ago, the Blues did, indeed, determine that Yeo must go.

    https://www.yahoo.com/sports/blues-fire-yeo-name-berube-054159761.html

Why they would bother naming an interim with Quennville standing in the unemployment line up in Chicago is beyond me. Does Quennville’s contract say he can’t coach while under contract even if fired?

And now Ken Hitchcock lands in Underachieving Edmonton. If anyone can whip MeMeMe Connor McDefenseless into finally playing some freaking two way hockey so the Oilers can quit getting greased by giving up over 3 goals a game, it’s Ken.
