Granted the family is in town so I wasn’t that close of attention, but the Wild did something I have rarely seen done to the Bolts, and that is shut them down and take them off their game.

The wild are winning by rededicating themselves to defence and going to the net. There is a glimmer of hope.

Wow, what a 180 for the Wild who would have believed that this team would be competing at the level they are now playing at?

The worry now is are they peaking too early?

They certainly are alot more fun to watch now, it’s amazing what Donato and Fiala have brought to this team so quickly, just the idea of these guys shooting whenever they get the puck is fun to watch…

Yea I hope they can keep it up and make the Playoffs, it would be fun to see how far they could go. The front runners all season seem to be slowing down and are now kind of coming back to the pack. The way the Wild are playing now I think they could make a good run at winning two series.
It’s been a long season and some of those teams will pick it up in the playoffs. But this current team has a shot at upsetting them.

Good Goaltending and consistent scoring will get you a long ways.

What do you credit this recent success to? Bruce’s coaching or the new players and no more tradeline?

After last night’s game I said that if this were mid-April I’d be saying “the Wild are the team no one wants to play” but we still have, what, over a month left? So I think what you suggest is very possible.

There are definitely some “contributors” of this thread that have not been heard from now that the team is going through “good times.”

I think Koivu being out has helped this team as much as the trades. There is a real new car smell about this team right now. grin

Apparently they haven’t been able to ditch the bad habit of playing down to their competition.

its like a broken record, play well against the best teams, lay a egg against last place teams. do the wild have any wins this year against bottom dwelling teams?

makes last nights great win not so good anymore. but I penciled a lost last night and a win tonight, so they still finish 1-1. its not over yet though, florida gave up 2 goals last night in the last 37 seconds of the game. applause

I tried to play hockey once when I was stoned.
    That’s what it looked like.
Maybe that’s the problem, too much party after a win!

Big game against Dallas tomorrow night. I’d feel better if they were on the road. They suck at home. Maybe the shiny is wearing off the new guys already.

Kind of like the new or backup quarterback has 2 or 3 awesome games until there is some tape on him for the competition to look at so they can figure out his scheme and then all of a sudden he looks average.

They continue to have chances in the losses, they just can’t finish…Fiala has shown his brilliance at times, but he’s also shown his lack of finish ability that has plagued him his entire career. You can’t really teach how to finish, so we have to hope these young guys eventually figure it out on their own…Honestly, I’m hoping they continue to slide and move up the draft board, lots of really good centers in this years draft that will all be gone by around pick #7.

Next season you sort of wipe everybody’s record clean and re-evaluate what you have/need by next years trade deadline. Plan for making your next run at the cup starting the 2020-2021 season…

I noticed in the Sharks game Fiala got the puck on his stick about 10 feet in front of the Sharks net in traffic. Had he released a quick shot it might have gone in. But he tried to dance around a defender to get closer in and got the puck poked checked off his stick resulting in no chance. He might be obsessed with getting the high light reel goal rather than just a goal which might contribute to his finishing problem.

I can’t remember a team playing so poorly at HOME. Gonna need to step it up against Dallas…. must win in my opinion.

And I blinked and they are down 0-3. Looks like they are ready for the season to be over… again…

You have to sympathize with Boudreau, trying to get this group to play as a team is like herding cats.

Well it will be interesting this off season to see who stays or goes and if Fletcher is inclined to make a splash in free agency. It’s hard to figure out why this team has been mired in mediocrity and under achievers in the years since getting Parise and Suter.

They have enough quality players they should be better than this. They just can’t gel as a team for more than 4 or 5 games at a time. That would normally point to the coach but I don’t think Boudreau is the problem. Hell if anything he is probably a victim of whatever it is that plagues this franchise.

Whens the last time a Boudreau led team missed the playoffs?

Minnesota hockey fans usually only chear when they see something to chear about.
    Dallas, bigger, faster, better.
    Game over, another loss.
    Maybe next year.

4 days off and that’s the effort they put out? Sit the vets and call-up the Iowa guys, at least they’ll try…

I don’t care what Fletcher does making splashes or not, but I do care about what Fenton does.
