    Great short sighted insight.

I just have to chuckle at all of this trade talk year after year and nothing ever happens. Name me 3 trades where the wild have given up someone significant during the season in their entire history.

Fact is, teams in the market for any of these guys mid-season or at the trade deadline is VERY VERY small! You’re better off planning what to do with your future powerball winnings than dreaming of a deadline trade.

The 4th goal with RS in front of the net defines why I personally don’t like RS. He’s a push over and his stats are pointless at crunch time.

He’s only like 20-21 years old and mostly been relegated to 4th line duty, you expect him to do alot playing with Feligno, Hendricks or Brown?

Give him a chance to play with some skilled players to see what he can do…

that was just a fluke goal, whole team looked like a jv squad tonight, couldn’t put two passes together, Nino looked lost all game again..

We’re in the Fletcher Hangover Era now. Fletcher hollowed out the middle of the team with all his easy giveups of 1st round picks in trades.

The arena lights have finally come on for you, welcome back.
Although this is hardly an original post since many of us have been saying that for the past three years, but it’s good to see you looking outside the box.

Is this team built for a playoff run? Absolutely not. No one here was optimistic about this season going in. In fact, most, if not all here thought it would be a stretch to make the playoffs. Their strong run in November was fun. The collapse in December has been painful.

    applause

Absolutely spot on analysis, glad we could help you look beyond the crease where the rest of the game is played.

What a stupid post. I was repeating what I said after Fletcher’s initial round of first-round giveaways. And yes, I know it wasn’t an original thought even when you had it.

If you’ll recall, we were discussing this about the same time I said Yeo must go and I think you eventually arrived at that conclusion about 2 years later and posted it. This was also the time I started calling for Coyle to be traded, so glad you’re finally all caught up.

Why don’t you go and start your own Bolts thread and leave the Wild the those of us who actually follow them rather than just read the box score? Or are you a Pens fan this week? Oh, I guess Calgary is hot now so you’re probably a Flames fan now? Hard to keep track of which bandwagon you’re on from day to day.

Really? That’s it? I expected you to post some brilliant original Wild insight.

Maybe some in-depth original research where you crunch the numbers and prove your theory that Risebrough was really bad at first round draft picks? Or your groundbreaking insight on Jacques Lemaire, did he or did he not have some kind of accent?

Wild Nation cries out for your original, in-depth analysis. When you’re not watching the Blackhawks, of course. Weren’t you a Blackhawks fan once upon a time? I’m talking like before you were a Bolts fan, but after you were a Caps fan, and this would be between the time when you were a Pens fan, then you kind of went off them for a while, but then they won the cup so you were a huge fan for a while. Well, then Vegas came along and made a run, so…

Wild Nation? As in a group of two?
As in Grousehopper and his comrade?
Who bestow their wisdom upon all those who dare to care, all else shall be according to their ideals, and the Wild Nation club doctrine.
Whos blinders carry their conversations into two ideals that we are condemned to hear over and over again.
    Chalie Coyle and Goaltenders

Have youreally watched the game of hockey? If so it should be clear that out side of Wild Nations Club house, the game is played at a higher level than this Wild team of the past several years can play.
And the Wild continue to hang closer to the bottom NHL teams while, the 12 teams at the top continue to widen the gap.

Go ahead and enjoy the season, it
looks more and more likely that it will be a short one.

Good win by the Wild tonight after getting waxed out in Boston. BUT they looked so good for two periods and then fell asleep. ZERO shots in the 3rd period and almost choked it away. Is that much of a conservative mode a coaching strategy or the players just sitting back? Not the way to finish games if you ask me

Some of it is upto the coach to put the proper players on the ice, if somebody is slacking, don’t put them out there, but ultimately it comes down to the captains to kick everybody in the a$$ and wake them out of their 3rd period funk…The problem is one of our worst offenders of being selfish and lazy is Koivu…

This season is shaping up much like last year where the Wild dominate the top teams throughout the season but flounder when playing inferior teams.
Boston is a good team, so that isn’t that big of deal to lose to them, but losing to some of the teams the Wild have in December is embarrassing.
They’ve reeled off 5 wins in the last 7. That is pretty dang good. Even prior to this little stretch they were playing much better but not scoring enough or at all.
Good to see Zucker get on the board last night. Man, we need him and Staal to start being consistent contributors.
Greenway almost had 2, but still able to get one. He is coming along pretty good.
Looking at the standings, good Lord TB! 70pts!? Sheesh.

There is no bad news in beating the #2 team in the whole division. Especially coming off a long road trip and an out-of-gas 0-4 loss.

Third period wasn’t great, but then again do we really expect the Jets to just sit there and get beat? Obviously, they are going to make adjustments too and to be honest I was happy the Wild energy lasted through 2 after a long road trip. Grandlund was 3/16 of an inch from seal-the-deal goal, so not all bad.

And nothing bad about any game where Zucker gets 2. It is a little frustrtating that the Wild have had Zucker and Staal on a scoring diet lately, but with that said that makes it all the better that we can find a way to win.

Long home stand now, let’s see if the Wild can find the love in the X for a few games in a row. Both the Avs and the Stars are completely catchable in the Central right now, great time to get back in the playoff picture.

Yeah that 3rd period wasn’t fun to watch but let’s keep in mind that the wild haven carried a lead through three periods virtually all season. I’m guessing this lead to a completely different complection for them in the 3rd.

It’s said every year by every team ever, “it’ll be good season if the young guys step up this year”. We always see other teams riding the coattails of a rookie or other young players. Guentzel and Laine come to mind as of recently. Greenway certainly isn’t at that level but he sure is making some big contributions. He seems to be living up to the expectations.

I think Granny has more shots off the post than he does on goal this season. I’d be nice to see even 1/2 of those go in. He has an absolute rocket of a shot. Steal isn’t far behind.

BIG is a very good word when talking about Greenway. I’ve attended a Wild practice and you cannot realize how freaking HUGE Greenway is until you stand at ice level with him. Holy Schmidt he is freaking huge. I wish we had 6 Greenways.

And he and Kunin and a couple of other key additions show clearly why the Jets are having fits with the Wild. It got a lot tougher to be physical with the Wild.

BTW, if you get a chance go and take your kids to a Wild practice at the new Tria Rink. Really interesting to be a couple of feet away from these guys. Also, I love it when casual fans say the Wild are “small” or you hear guys refer to Parise or Suter as “small”. Maybe compared to Jumbo Joe, yes, but the freaking speed and size and stength of these players is really something to see close up.

I do have to admit, standing there at ice level with Spurgeon really made me smile. He’s absolutely tiny! He is barely taller than me when he’s IN his skates. Honestly, the impressive thing about Spurgeon is you think of how good he has to be with that kind of size disadvantage to play D the way he does, makes you appreciate him all the more.

I agree an now he’s definitely playing BIG. His first dozen or so games I thought he was getting pushed around a lot. Not any more. He’s playing with intensity and with a lot of skill too. I am very pleasantly surprised.

Coyle looked like a completely different player than I knew before. Keep that line together. It still floors me how he can play like that sometimes and then completely flat most of the time.

Wild need to dump Nino. I was surprised when he hit the net with his stick as he skated by after missing on the breakaway. I fully expected him to wiff, spin around and crash into the boards.

It’s clear that the wild will only go as far as their defence and Doobs can take them.

Well, sure IF Coyle were to finally KEEP up this level of play, I totally agree. The problem is that we’ve seen this movie before. Coyle sucks for 20 games and then has 3 good games and we all think/hope he’s finally turned it around and then 5 games later he’s back to suckdom.

You can’t help but think that the smart money would be on Nino getting his game back before Coyle becomes Mr. Consistency, but maybe not.

typical wild, beat one of the best teams, then lose to one of the worst teams at home.
