I suspect we’ll hear that Nino was playing hurt for most of the 2nd half of the season and has surgery after the season is over with, he just doesn’t look at all like the player we’ve seen the past few years…

Maybe Zucker’s playoff slump will help with his contract negotiations? (getting a better deal capwise) We can’t let him go, he’s the closest thing we have to a sniper right now until Kaprizov comes over…

Coyle….no idea what to do with him, maybe pay for an offseason shrink to retool his mind…at least his contract isn’t silly so maybe they wait it out another year…I’d hate to get rid of him and then he turns into a legit power forward somewhere else…

Dumba has shown me enough to sign him to a 2 year “Prove it” extension similar to Granlund a few years ago…You just don’t find Offensive Defensemen entering their prime ever becoming available to sign…

    Agreed!

The team as a whole ignored he got hit. I get it’s an old school hockey mentality, but he needed to be targeted after that hit. If that would have happened to almost any other team, there would have been an all out attack on him, especially on home ice. There was nothing. Greenway was the only one who seemed to want to put some stink on that game.

It goes without saying, this team is soft and RS hasn’t showed any grit in situations like that where his presence would have changed that at all.

I don’t want to get rid of RS/ZP/MK, but they gotta figure out something or nothing will change. Team’s fight tooth and nail in the playoffs. The wild skate and try, but there’s absolutely no push back or grit to fight through and win ugly game’s. After the hit, nobody would go to the front of the net. ZP might have tried, but it’s pretty obvious his body can’t take that abuse. And that’s a fact, not anti wild, ignorant, non loyalty to the team. This team needs help and turning a blind eye to that is bizarre, when it’s so glaringly obvious.

so this issue I do put on the shoulders of Fletcher & Coach Bruce and Captain Koivu. Look at the makeup of our team, we have small and light players that get punished and pushed around (Spurgeon, Ennis, Granlund, Zucker) we have European players & older vets that stay out of the rough stuff (Staal, Suter, Koivu, Brodin, Cullen, Parise, Erickson Ek, Ninoreiter) and then only size and attitude we have on the team (Seeler, Greenway, Winnik and Foligno) and then there’s Coyle… Seeler and Greenway were added late in the season so we can’t really count them in terms of the overall makeup of this and past seasons teams..maybe they bring the sandpaper to the future?

Alot of times the team reflects the attitude of their Captain, Koivu has shown a lack of effort numerous times this season and season’s past (Just look at his lack of effort highlights in OT games) Trust me, the players on the bench pay attention to this and it poisons their games as well…

Did anybody see Zdeno Chara pull his team together the other night and chew their a$$e$ out on the bench during a tv timeout…that’s what’s needed on this team…

Coyle I am finally giving up on. Grouse was totally right all along, for the last 3 years he’s been calling Coyle as useless and mammary glands on a boar and now, finally, I’ve seen the light. I hereby clearly recognize Grouse as the font of all hockey wisdom, as well as the fine, upstanding human being that we all know him to be. Had I only listened to Grouse, I could have saved myself thousands of dollars by NOT buying 2 Coyle sweaters (home and away), Coyle socks, Coyle boxer sorts (signed, of course) and a game-used framed Coyle mouthguard that I found on eBay for onlyh $1100. Brite spots during the year, but Coyle has been worthless in this series.

Well. What can I say, really?

If only it was as easy as FanDual.com…

Yes, and even if it WERE that easy, how many people would build a team using sure-bet A List players like Ovechkin, Backstrom, Oshie, Kuznetsov, Niskanen, Orpik, and maybe Holtby in goal and — oh, wait, that’s the Washington Capitols and they can’t find their butts with both hands as soon as the playoffs start.

The only sure thing is there is no sure thing.

Well we did try Washingtons Head coach, hows that working?
They need to get rid of the dead weight on the team, and replace them with farm system players and the draft picks.
Ohh wait Fletcher traded those pieces away.
Free agents? Ohh wait Fletcher has cash strapped this team for the next decade.

The only sure thing is this team is in for a long struggle.

Charlie Coyle for a 2nd or 3rd round pick would be a steal, they would be lucky to get Snow White and the seven hockey pucks.

    Totally agree!

Just like the wilds middle of the road, supposed saviour super star’s, this team is not gelling well post season. Blame it on MK, Fletcher, injuries, slumps, players not panning out, Yeo, a soft goal or two, Bruce, whatever, something is off.

The jet’s are going to be in the wilds way for years to come, just like the black hawk’s were, that is one he!! of a roster they have too. The wild will have no chance with how both team’s are built. If you think the fans selling off ticket’s is bad now, wait a year or two. If the trend continues, and by luck of the draw we faced them again in the first round next year, wild fans will be out numbered at the wilds home rink.

It’s hard to do anything, we all get that. Get we can’t do much about certain contracts or injuries, and yes it’s great getting to the playoffs. But three years from now when something else is broken with ZP and RS is slowed because of his age, and MK is more stagnant and slow than he is now, it’s going to really, really suck just getting to the playoffs and losing in four.

Not saying rebuild or blow anything up, but doing nothing now, will be a bigger disaster down the road imo.

Liane, Myers, Conner & Wheeler contract’s are all up after next season, Trouba and Hellibuck expire next year, they will throw their cap space into chaos, who on that list DON’T you resign?…there are no good teams in the NHL that aren’t in cap space hell (Vegas being the exception)

3 years from now Koivu is off the books, Staal is likely gone and Parise and Suter will be near the end of their career when their buyout options are completely doable…It will be players like Dumba, Kunin, Erickson Ek, Kaprizov and Greenway leading this team…that sounds like a good core to build around…

Sid the KID “The Best” player in NHL passes Mario Lemuix for most playoff points in Pittsburgh History.

Crosby plays the game at a different level than anyone else,

Morrisey suspended one game for something that wasn’t a penalty in the ref’s eyes, huh? It’s almost too bad because now the Wild can’t take a run at him tomorrow night….yeah, like they would have anyways flame

    Baffling.

Why did the ref apologize in game?

Makes the refs and league look terrible.

No push back is even worse from the wild.

We are done. The only question is do I change the channel or watch anyways. Dumba had 2 key turn overs in 2 shifts.

They will be fine, they must just be squeezing their sticks to hard. Plenty of time yet.

I actually just posted on FB that Stalock has the best chance of scoring based on how they are playing.

Thank God I’m moving to Tampa. I literally can’t take anymore of this.

They need to trade coyle and Nino in the off-season. They should be coming into their “prime”. You might be able to trick a GM into taking them.

Blow it up, it can’t hurt.

Do you start with Fletcher or has he done his job?

Did anyone watch the intermission with Clymer? Holy crap is he horrible. It’s as if they are down 1-0 in October.

That was the worst period of hockey I’ve seen all season. How can he sit there and smile and throw out vanilla cliche after vanilla cliche?

If they don’t at least make this interesting, I think Fletchers job is on the line.

It kind of sucks, I mean two of those goals were crazy tips and the other two were soft.

As for Fletch, I don’t know. I’d probably move on. He’s given up a lot of picks and made the team salary strapped. And he has nothing to show for it.

As long as you have the Parise and Suter contracts you can’t blow it up and rebuild. You can only re-load and take another run. This fan base isn’t the Timberwolves fan base. They won’t settle for a crappy pro team during a 5 year re-build.
