I don’t know exactly why but I feel like this year is different. No one is giving them any credit and I think this is one of the deeper teams they’ve had.

It’s hard for me to say they get past Winnipeg, but I think they do. I say they lose to Nashville in the second round.

At least let them play the series. Then people can renew their Prozac prescriptions.

Whaaaaaaaat? You mean they actually like, play these games? I thought it was just internet forums and Vegas odds that determined who advanced? That’s why the Caps have won the Stanley Cup for the last 2 seasons, right?

You’re really out there with this “let them play” crazy stuff.

I don’t like the idea of actually playing these games. What if someone gets hurt?

Pretty soon the dems will looking for a ban on hockey sticks and hockey skates because they cause injuries.

In a watered down league of teams considered equal,(parity in your own words), the odds would then “with all things being equal” tend to favor your team to advance further than the 1st round for seven consecutive years.
You have acceptable play during the regular season and then the end result is you are not good enough to move past the first round.
That is the meaning of mediocre, no matter how much you white wash it.

    Plain an simple
    It Hasn’t happened
And with Suter out, highly doubtful it will

I switched back to the Wild defeating the Jets in 7. I don’t have a lot of faith in a team who hasn’t been in the playoffs in a long time. It’s a trend I spotted some time ago and has served me well. It’s hard to do with the injuries to Suter and Spurgeon. However I thing you’ll see the Wild put up some points and Dooby stand on his head enough for them to get by.

Not quite sure what that means but my money is on the Jets and Tampa in the final series.
I think the cup will be won in Tampa Bay once again.

This sound bite should be played at the drop of the puck tonight…

It goes against my pesidents cup teams flop in the playoffs, but I think it’ll be Nashville this year. Nashville would have won last year with Johansson and Fiala. This feeds into my runner up trend. It’s Nashville all the way.

Pretty hard to see anyone but Nashville representing the west in the finals. Vegas has enough firepower to make it interesting, but ultimately I think you’re right, Pug.

The East is a lot harder to me at least to see a clear favorite, especially in R2. Tampa beating Boston isn’t a clearcut deal to me assuming Boston gets past the Leafs.

Then who the heck knows in the other bracket? If you think the Wild have a Blackhawks complex, I hate to think of what the Caps fans have when it comes to playing the Pens. In theory, the Pens defense is not what it was in the past 2 years, but the Pens have had a playoff overdrive gear in the past, so who knows what happens there. I have to say I think this is the Caps year to get to the CF, but then they do all that only for the right to meet the Bolts? Ouch.

I have Jets vs Penguins, Jets winning the Cup

I think the Jets take 7 to beat the Wild…

Malkin/Crosby combo carry the Penguins to yet another cup final but they lose….

I expect almost all series to go at least 6 games…the days of 4-0 sweeps are over, as we saw by the # of points needed just to get into the playoffs, no bad teams snuck in…

I’m thinking it will be an Atlantic vs Central final. There’s some tough teams there so no idea who’s going to make it out of those divisions.

You are all wrong. Cinderella story, the wild beat the Jets in 7, then go deeper and deeper and turn on the super juice at the end to bring home the cup. It’s my story I’ll tell it how I want. toast

I have Washington getting bumped by Columbus, however adversity sometimes breeds success in the playoffs. I could see Washington riding grubauer to a cup. Same goes with the wild.

Remember Murray took the pens to the cup and Nashville got close without Fiala and Johanssen.

Right and then Fleury did it last year for the Pens. They have ridden a “backup” two years in a row to the Cup.

Wow. If that happens, do you think we’ll be able to hear the calls to “Blow it up!” all the way out here in Minnesota?

I can’t imagine how frustrating it is for Caps fans to have a loaded for bear team with Ovechkin, Backstrom, Oshie, etc, etc, etc and be sitting there watching other teams playing for the cup year after year after year.

Well, if the Caps lose, you certainly cannot blame Boudreau for their epic fail in Playoffs. Remember that was one of his teams that would dominate and then lose in playoffs, just like the Ducks.

I am not getting too high or too low right now.
I am going to enjoy the ride while it lasts.

We have had a consistent season and have beaten pretty much everyone with the exception of the Jets this year. A couple of those losses were when the Wild wasn’t playing particularly well and I think the blowout game was the last one for Quincey if memory serves.

Soo, I think all the pressure is on the Jets. Its actually nice to be the underdog with no real expectations.

The Jets have a ton of firepower, but we have a ton more experience in the playoffs. It should be an exciting series and tonight is going to be a blast I have a feeling.

That’s the beauty of the NHL playoffs, every team has a legit chance to win it, all it takes is some puck luck and a goalie getting hot at the right time…

This is the best time of the year to just enjoy the sport, not focusing on your hometown team… I love it!

C’mon boys! At least they weathered the first period but they need to turn it around now. Only mustered 4 shots on goal, sailing pucks wide of the net, and oh yeah Coyle sucks.

Good news Dubnyk looks good so far!

Successful 1st period, but why are we always the team that doesn’t finish checks? Foligno is doing it but nobody else…Greenway appears to have “Coyleitis”. He needs to be punishing guys every shift!!!

Doobs looks to have his head in the game, and Spurgeon survived a few early hits, thats a good sign…

Yeah, that call was total BS. But the Wild looked very good in the 2nd. Lots of guys throwing checks. Get one back to start 3rd and they will be fine.

Dangit Prosser. Exactly the penalty NOT to take and we pay for it.

Jets are not pushing the Wild around. We’ve added some size and they’re hitting hard.
