Good to see Coyle on the sheet he’s played well the last few…hopefully he doesn’t stall out like usual..
No coincidence he has been playing wing when he has started producing.
I’ve said it a thousand times, he needs to play wing. He played wing most of last season and had his best season. He has been forced to play center much of this year because of all the injuries and floundered. He also had a pretty serious injury, which he still has rods in his leg as a result.February 12, 2018 at 12:07 pm #1751694Anyone catch this save? I didn’t catch it the other night when I was watching.
CaptainMuskyPosts: 22882CaptainMuskyPosts: 22882February 12, 2018 at 12:46 pm #1751708So Seeler gets called up. I wonder if that is a showcase for potential trade or what? Reilly and Olofsson have been decent of late, not superb, but OK. Definitely seeing some of the offensive upside to Reilly’s game, but he makes me nervous in the D zone.
If Seeler makes his debut tomorrow that would mean 51 Minnesotans have played in the NHL this year with something like 8 making their debut. That is pretty sweet.
How many from FL have played this year Pug?February 12, 2018 at 3:26 pm #17517885
Shayne Gostisbehere, Jakob Chychrun, Ryan Carpenter, Jaycob Megna and Jayson MegnaCaptainMuskyPosts: 22882February 12, 2018 at 3:59 pm #17518035
Shayne Gostisbehere, Jakob Chychrun, Ryan Carpenter, Jaycob Megna and Jayson MegnaThat’s about 5 more than I thought there was going to be. LOL
February 12, 2018 at 6:15 pm #1751839Andrew Peeke who plays for notre dame I believe, was also selected this year. 34th overall.
All of them except Carpenter moved away at some point to play organized hockey, except maybe Carpenter, who is from Oviedo, like Blake Bortles. It’s right by where I live.
I think the bolts and Panthers have traveling organized youth development teams.
February 14, 2018 at 6:01 am #1752230That central division race is going to be a fun one. The title is still up for grabs for 5 teams. And Colorado still could make a push for a playoff spot, although it’s probably unlikely.
February 14, 2018 at 8:32 am #1752250If the Wild can maintain their play right now, they have the opportunity to make a big move up the standings, right now is probably the only time the Central division has looked vulnerable all season…They have got to figure out how to close games though…been the problem all season….
CaptainMuskyPosts: 22882February 14, 2018 at 8:33 am #1752252Yeah, its tightening up for sure! Wild trailing Blues by 4 pts (3 games in hand) and Stars by 2 pts (1 game in hand). Its going to be a fun ride for sure!
February 14, 2018 at 8:47 am #1752256Lets hope they play up to the Capitols tomorrow and keep their losing streak going while maintaining the Wild winning streak!! This game has me a little worried though.
February 14, 2018 at 8:49 am #1752259It does not get any easier with the Caps coming to town tonight. Thankfully the Jets beat up on them last night and took it to overtime.

If they just stick a player on Ovie all game they will have a chance, my god has he single-handedly destroyed us in the past…STAY OUT OF THE PENALTY BOX!
February 14, 2018 at 8:58 am #1752264really nice to see BOTH Kaprizov and Greenway score in their 1st games. I didn’t realize Greenway was a center? It’s amazing how much bigger he is than everybody else on the ice.. what a beast!
Kaprizov’s goal was a pretty sweet deflection…unreal hands on that kid!

No doubt. Remember last year when Ovi scored 3 on the PP against us in one game? Its was as if their VCR broke and they couldn’t prep.

Whats a VCR?
, your old.At least he didn’t call it “film”.
Good effort last night, but we have to quit this deal with scoring 3 goals and then spending the rest of the game letting the other team back in it. Bit too much of a nail-biter in the third for me, I thought for sure I had seen this movie before. But they held on
I’ll be at the game vs the Caps.
Yes, stay out of the box, but that comes easier when you’re playing in the O zone, which will be tough.
I wish it were as easy as keying on Ovetchkin, but you’re talking about a team that’s bristling with weapons. Backstrom, Oshie, Kuznetsov, Carlson, and more. They’re all dangerous. If we think Minnesota sprots fans are frustrated, how’d you like to have a team loaded with those weapons and still not make the Cup?
Hey, what’s the most popular wine among Washingthon Caps fans? Waaaaaaaaah, Crosby did it to us AGAIN…
Good news on the Wild prospects looking good. Bad news that team USA played like the Wild in overtime.

February 15, 2018 at 9:32 pm #1752779Watching team USA vs Slovakia, i’m really impressed with Greenway’s ability to use his size with the puck, super excited to see him sign with the Wild after the olympics. He’s just punishing guys every shift…
Meanwhile Ovi has 3 points sofar against the Wild..
February 16, 2018 at 5:51 am #1752801What the H E double hockey sticks happened between the first and second period????? The Wild owned the ice the first period, even though they couldn’t score. They come out in the second and it’s a different team that quickly became unwatchable
Fortunately the Ducks and the Kings lost too, as did the Blues
CaptainMuskyPosts: 22882February 16, 2018 at 7:59 am #1752817Kaprizov with a hat trick last night vs Slovenia….
Man, I hope that kid makes it over here. Lets start a countdown to when his contract is up with the KHL!
February 16, 2018 at 8:18 am #1752821Sorry if this was posted before.
The Hockey Writers – Kirill Kaprizov Minnesota Wild Prospect/
AS: And now the most important question: why you are not in Minnesota? If you didn’t sign a contract with CSKA up to 2020 you could fly there next spring.
KK: Well, you know that they weren’t too interested in me. What round was I picked at? The fifth? “I think that they forgot about me immediately after the selection. Only when I made it to the WC they started to do something and started talking with my agent. We all seen the job the Maple Leafs did with Nikita Zaitsev. There was nothing like that with me. I want to play in the NHL. Just not now, but a bit later. At first, I need to play well here, to be more confident. Sometimes I don’t play well even here, in the KHL.
Hopefully Chuck squared things away with him…
…and hopefully he isn’t a primadonna
February 16, 2018 at 9:28 am #1752840it’s believed that all of the misunderstanding was due to his first agent…His new agent is all about getting him to the NHL once his KHL contract is up… from all that i’ve read he’s a really grounded kid that just loves to play hockey…
CaptainMuskyPosts: 22882February 16, 2018 at 10:39 am #1752870Pug that information is about a year old. He was getting bad info from his old agent. He has a new agent as of October who has experience bringing Russian players from the KHL to the NHL. Chuck has met with him in person back in December. I think this is going to work out, but its going to be some time, until after his contract is up.
February 16, 2018 at 10:56 am #1752873I think this is going to work out, but its going to be some time, until after his contract is up.
This whole KHL contract thing is still a big question mark as well. AFAIK, no one has ever actually seen this alleged 3-year deal he signed and Kaprisov has never said the duration or terms.
The only mention of the 3-year deal came from his team, Moskava and it was questioned whether the 3-year thing was thrown out there by the team while negotiations were still ongoing or weather the deal had actually been signed at that point. So the question is what contract did he actually sign? Was it 3 years straight up or was the 3 years, but with some kind of options?
There is no expiration of rights to drafted Russian players, so regardless how he may or may not feel about the Wild, he isn’t going to play for any other NHL team unless the Wild sell or trade him.
Either way, the new agent seems to be a lot steadier and he’s making things happen in a more businesslike way.

The article date was Nov 2017 and I couldn’t remember ever reading the quote, but I have a poor memory, that’s why I started with “not sure if this was posted before”.
