Can I get a quick explanation on MN turkey tags. Heard a rumor first four seasons are a draw and after that it it first come first serve. Probably could find out most of this information if I read the pdf. I would look to probably hunt in May after i squeeze in all my other hunts. – QB

A-C need to apply for the permist. D-H you can buy permit for a zone and hunt that 5 or 7 day period. Another option would be an archery tag for the last 4 seasons.

Lottery need to be in soon if you don’t care then just buy one over the counter for one the last seasons.

I will be trying for B this spring

B always has been a premium option in MN when applying. It’s a Monday – Friday hunt, so it usually sees far fewer people applying. In the zones I hunt, that equates to about an 85% success in drawing.

It is really nice to have the flexibility to just buy an OTC tag and hunt when you have time, but sometimes putting it on the schedule makes sure you can guard those dates from other pesky commitments!

Right on, I need to get to the planning phase, If the stars align I will be hitting 5 states this year. So far away but yet so close and we will be hearing the thunder chicken calls. – QB
