At today’s Roundtable, a quick review of the workshops. Muskie mananagent is the only fishing topic. I might be one of the last men standing of the original fisheries Hook and Bullet attendees. There is a session on the rewritten Fisheries Lake Management Planning guide and Shoreline Management, Preventing and managing invasive Carp in the Mississippi, Dams, Culverts,Fish Passage and record rains. There will be an evening fisheries All Star Tag/Team discussion of all things Tommy Nuestrom

Nice to see that be the main topic. I know stocking has drastically decreased. Hopefully some kind of change comes out of it.
January 10, 2025 at 10:13 am #2309827MN-Fish has a large presence. But hardly any from the Hook and Bullet community
January 10, 2025 at 10:22 am #2309828Any chance you have a copy of the invite or attendance list? Tampon Tim showing up this year?
January 10, 2025 at 11:25 am #2309840WERM, List is a closely guarded secret lol. This isn’t a stakeholder discussion meeting (it used to be but changed 10-15 years ago). Now it’s an opportunity to present new research, programs and projects. It’s much more at 70,000 ft. As topics are introduced, Q&A discussion is encouraged.

Yeah, I attended a few years ago, and we chatted briefly. So I’m aware, just thought it’d be interested to see who the DNR see’s fit to invite, my invite has been lost in the mail since my first and only attendance…
January 10, 2025 at 12:33 pm #2309845I was invited again this year Werm, but much like the year you went, I gave my seat to someone that had more fire then I do.
There was a announcement where the general public could request an invite once they found out how many seats were left open (I think is was about 25 this year).
As I said here before, it’s time for the young bucks to jump in with both feet.
Me? 120 day’s until full retirement and then the only focus I’ll have is getting ready for Sept 1 when I point the floating camper South to start America’s Great Loop.
See? My priority’s have change and I didn’t make any comments about Tommy Nuestrom. I knew I could do it!!

And that’s the reason, I’m leaving it up the the young bucks (and does) that have the passion to know or learn what’s right and stand up for it…after they wade through the politics.
