My beer will taste the same. Our group will still make dirty jokes. The bond fire at night will be extra nice for the warmth. We will eat like kings. We might even catch a walleye maybe not, but I still plan on having a great time.

Was planning on heading up north (leech lake area) for opener but after the updated forecast showing stronger winds and low temps hitting upper 20’s. I decided that it was not worth the drive or money spent.. I ll wait until next weekend when its suppose to be 70’s. When you don’t get much time off and plan a trip I don’t want to be miserable being pounded by wind and worrying about boat control for the whole weekend. I suspect with a sever cold front ripping through that the bite will be terrible. Sorry to be a downer but I have never had success catching walleyes when that sever of a cold front comes through.

Don’t ‘throw in the towel’! Consider a cold front (and this one is a minor one…) a challenge! There will be limit after limit caught on Leech this weekend as there is every openor’…RR

I do love challenges but there also is part of me that enjoys sitting on the dock having a cold one and enjoying the night.

No…. Born and raised Minnesooootin….. My point was that the cold front will have a negative effect on the fish. And when you don’t get a lot of opportunities to take time off, you want to put yourself in the best situation to have a successful trip. And this weekend does not look promising for it to be a successful outing and or enjoyable weather.

Anyone else bummed about the crummy weather for opener. I would have taken last weekends weather….

I would’ve thought the bite was going to suck yesterday too with rain and cold temps… But at 2.5 mph the fish didn’t seem to mind crushing a crank bait.

If you noticed I was talking about up north where the low will be in the high 20’s. That’s a significant difference from where the temps are in the metro.

Yes but that wasn’t in your op.

    Sorry for sharing.

I’m sure cranks will never work for you. Don’t try it ;)
