So, vikes made it to their conference championship game. Wild are doing ok, as are T wolves (ever since Dutch said they dont matter jester ) Twins starting soon after a better than expected last season. Question is, who do you think will have the best campaign? Farthest into the post season….
Prediction? I think the Wild will make it to the Stanley Cup. The Twins will win the wild card but lose in the divisional round. The Puppies will make the playoffs but lose in the 1st round.

Hey Dufus. You left out the Lynx. They don’t count as a “major” team? Do they win too much and embarrass the men?

I wouldn’t bet good money on any team making it as close as the semi-finals like the Vikes.

Pretty sure I seen a National Championship won at the Barn on October 4th of last year. I’d say of the professional sports they have the best chance at winning again. So to answer your question the Lynx are your only hope and the rest will just let you down in the end.

I would attend a pro soccer game before ever stepping foot in a pro basketball arena either men or women.

That said, give me the starting line-up and starting rotation for the Twins and i’ll take a guess.

We went to three Lynx games last year. My daughter was way into it. Those women are true pros and act like it. They even came up to the tunnel after a win and patiently slap fives with fans.

Hey Moron, i didnt add the Lynx because theyll most likely be in the championship game. Id only be an embarrassed man if i talked like you. Why cant you just ask a question civily?

Thank you Wisconsin guys for the offer of a shoulder. However after feeling down for 10 seconds I thought about this…………

    We got the

    Twins… you got the Brewers
Timberwolves … you got the Bucks
    Vikings ….you got the Packers
    Lynx……you got ……well nothing
Wild …. you got …..well nothing
    Gophers ….. you got Bucky

Again thank you!!! I’m feeling much much better now. waytogo

How many championships for WI have over MN in the last 30 years? Twins have a couple, Packers have a couple….that’s about it. If you throw the Lynx, Gopher Hockey and V-ball teams in there I think that MN has you guys beat, correct?

And, don’t make any excuses about the regular season. I’ve read in other threads that only championships matter……..

    …….let the smack talk begin.

To the op, I’ll take the Twins. Young team that needs a few pieces but could be a contender.

I don’t think so. For the sake of this discussion, I would think it be fair to go back and begin with the Super Bowl time frame. Dismissing pre Packer Championships prior to Super Bowls, the Pack has 4 SB titles. And then as a surprise, Bucky has 6 NCAA hockey National Championships to the Gophers 5. Oh, and the Bucks won an NBA title in 1971. The Lakers…way long ago in Minneapolis before we were all born…they won big in LA. Add the Twins 2 WS wins and I don’t see where MN has WI beat…not counting Lynx or volleyball. roll
I have lived and loved in both states and have been fans of all those teams. Just stating the facts though… whistling

Reminiscent of Mathau and Lemon (i.e. “Dickhead and Putz” in Grumpy Old Men… circa 1993 on Pool 4/Wabasha)

    True Minnesotans!!!

Bigpike’s therapy chair remains open. Wish all your sports teams the best of luck.

Actually the current state of the big 4 in scony is pretty good. The bucks have one of the most dynamic young players in the league in Antetokounmpo. My beloved brew crew has a awesome young team and a top 5 minor league system. The pack still has Rodgers. And Bucky has a winning football program and while our hoops team is down this year it has been excellent the last 15 years. Overall not bad. Nothing personal but hockey is like nascar – who cares?
And girls basketball is well….girls basketball.

Therapy still in session fellas, I think we’re making some progress here waytogo

If we are going to go way back, how many ncaa football championships have the gophers won?

My perspective was in my sports watching lifetime and I’m 39. Also, I just like to stir the pot a bit!

    Is baseball really a sport?

you got like 14 guys just standing around out in a field while a pitcher stares at a batter then steps off…then stares some more then steps off… sleeping

Plus it takes no actual physical skill to play baseball

Good one skinny. Grab a helmet & bat and hop in the batters box. I’ll go dig up some double or triple A pitcher. I’ll give you $100 for every pitch you lay the bat on and $300 for any fair balls. 5 pitches in the strike zone. jester

No, no we aren’t doing some batting cage. We are doing live pitching where the pitcher can buzz the tower if he feels like it. crazy

Of course I would miss…I would literally fall asleep after watching the pitcher walk around for 45 minutes… then check the runner at first and then walk around and then spit out some chew and then grab his junk and then walk off the mound then shake his head at the catcher sleeping

ohh..better make a pitching change, there goes another 60 minutes of down time

To be clear, I am not hating on the Lynx as all. It’s just my brother brings it up as a major sports franchise. I guess it depends on your definition, but I think the general consensus is that the major sports leagues are the NHL, NFL, MLB and NBA…and in that order yay

If I had a daughter that enjoyed the Lynx, damn right I’d be following and going to games. But I don’t, so I couldn’t tell you much about them or the WNBA. My daughter was never interested and I don’t even like men’s basketball, so there is that. But that’s me. But I was curious for those saying “What about the Lynx” how deep your actual following is.
