Believe I know the answer but figure I’ll check with you guys since there is a strong MN crowd here. There is no ‘cut off’ prior to Saturdays gun opener for buying the license correct? As in even if I don’t make it over to that side of the river till I am on my way over Friday evening I can get it then and be good for Saturday morning (non resident)?

As long as the system doesn’t crash from all the last minute shoppers. What I would do if I were you is buy it online now. You probably won’t get your tags in time through the mail but on Friday you can go to the store and pay a couple bucks for a reprint.

If for some reason you forget to buy one before season starts I do believe you can buy one after the season but there was a 24hr wait till legal rule. At least this was true a couple years ago, but I would double check as the MNDNR like to make changes in the rules like changing underpants.
the plan is to go Wednesday or Thursday to get it and meet for supper (wife works in winona). But in case that plan goes to heck, I’ll be driving thru Friday afternoon for sure on my way.
