Anyone tried to buy your 2025 fishing license online? I have tried a couple of times and my only choices that come up are fishing/turtle, fishing/herring , and one other that isn’t right either. I am trying to buy a couples angling license. I sent an email to the state, but who knows how long for them to respond. I guess I have more than a week to get it.

I haven’t tried, but I’ve seen hand written signs at a couple Fleet Farms and a gas station stating that licenses won’t be available until March 1st. Take that for what it’s worth.

Well that isn’t good when I have a fishing tournament on March 1st. We will see I guess.

Retailers are integrated to the state system so it’s possible they may not be able to sell one until March 1 either.

If someone tries in person, please let us know if it works.

The Hastings Ace told me they can’t sell or print them yet because of a new system the state is rolling out.

To err is human. To really screw things up, give the state of Minnesota a computer.

New electronic license system is coming at some point… was supposed to be ready by March 1st then they pushed it back to mid March but looks like the dnr has pushed that back to later in the year now. So not sure what we’re supposed to do for the 2025 fishing license because they initially said nobody can buy licenses until the new system is up. With this new system they’re eliminating the kill site tag for hunters too

I thought someone said in another thread that the old system would still be accessible until the new one was ready for rollout?

    Apparently not the case?

Between drivers licenses and fishing licenses MN should have just farmed it out to Amazon. Problem solved.

Was checked by the Warden on Saturday on Gull. He said the rollout would be ready by March.

The old system is still working, but the fishing licenses are not on there yet.

If they’re not on there by the end of the month and not available in store, I can guarantee nobody will get a ticket for fishing without a license.

If for some reason tickets get handed out, I’ll bring the torches and beer to the capital.

If someone could supply the pitchforks that would be great!

Local bait shop just posted that they have 2025 fishing licenses available. They included this image which could be a viable option. jester

The email I got from the DNR said we should still be able to use the old system. Originally they were just going to roll out the electronic licenses and if they weren’t ready we could fish without a license. Not surprised they are not all on the same page.

I was just able to buy the 2025 license online, so the DNR got it figured out 10 days in advance. Pretty good. lol
