$800 sounds about right. It would separate professional guides from guys who want somebody else to pay for their fishing.

I kind of agree on this. Also would fund all these things you guys say 100 dollars won’t cover.

All hunting and fishing guides should be licensed. They should also be CPR / Red Cross certified and maybe even Coast Guard (or MN boat captain) approved. I would argue they should also be bonded/insured.

In ND all licensed guides must pass a test and meet certain requirements in addition to paying a license fee.

Some may not remember but Mr. TN was very “loud” about the Freedom to fish Act on Mille Lacs. This lifted the requirements to be in possession of a USCG 6 pack license on that lake.

He went on to say that “I should get my head out of the fog.”

Last time he brought this up was to capture all the income tax that guides from out of state where not paying in their cash transactions, according to TN.

I have no cards in this game except to see what cards he has up his sleeve.

Does Minnesota require somebody with no boating experience to get training before taking out that new bass boat with a 300 hp Merc?

I believe anybody born after a certain date needs boating classes. But like with everything else these days it’s pretty much worthless as you do it on-line and can have a open book next to you.
