First time I’ve ever paid someone to do any kind of mount and I’d say he did a good job and quick and cant complain on the price. I did a couple euro mounts about a decade ago and they dont look near as nice. I’ve got the basic idea in my head for the plaque I want to make (cut out in the shape of MN on 5/4 rough sawn cedar), still need to nail down details on how I want to attach the head, but now that I’m almost done pestering the deer for the season I can get working on it pretty soon.

Nice buck! He’s got some great color at the bases and nice tines. Skull also looks nice and smooth and white.

nice buck. I used to do the boil routine till 4 years ago. I buy the skull kit from mountain mikes and love the way they end up. 20 bucks at mills. you can also get a nice bracket that sets the skull up at an angle on the wall so the rack is more visible. did mine and son in laws this year.

Plaque is just about done. I’m going to use some thinned down epoxy to get it to soak deep into the hanging peg to strengthen it up before I permanently glue it to the plaque, add some hanger brackets and it’s ready for the wall.

I contemplated seeing if I could find a wood burning set or something that I could put a star near where the deer was shot, but still on the fence about it.
