Haha. Not a big Edina guy here either. Was definitely pulling for Wayzata last night.

Anyone know if the section champ games are broadcast or streamed somewhere?

Some of them have live audio. I could not find any live feed last night.

I’m Minnetonka alum so naturally Edina is a hated rival. Part of it jealousy I’m sure.

Tonight’s section 7AA final is on the local ABC channel (WDIO). The semi’s were streamed on something like wdiolive dot com or something like that, not sure if the finals will also be streamed.
Cost per school is $100 for membership, $160 per sport, and $4.60 per student. Plus, in 2020 schools were hit with Covid fee up to $10,000.
We all pay taxes multiple ways to our schools, through the property taxes and from the state to the schools. So yes, my taxes support the MSHSL.
5-1 after 2. Duluth has no answer for the Conway line. Sounds like nobody else in the state has stopped them either.

7-1 Andover. Maple Grove beat them a couple weeks ago near the end of the regular season. It was Andover’s first loss in about 10 games if I remember correctly.
7-1 now. Andover scored 2 right when the 3rd started. They are beating them like a rented mule right now.

Charlie Conway? The triple deek still unstoppable after all these years??
Well yeah but the only reason they won is because they recruited the cake eater Adam Banks.
Several more teams have punched their ticket to St Paul tonight.
Class A
Warroad
Alexandria
Mahtomedi
Class AA
Lakeville South
Moorhead
Andover
Minnetonka
Maple Grove
They might as well change the name to the Metro Tournament plus Moorhead in class AA.
I miss the one class tournament when there was the possibility of the little school from the north coming down to St. Paul and winning the whole thing. Greenway, Roseau, Eveleth, Hibbing, TRF, IFalls, Rapids. Okay, I’ll throw a bone to the south when Rochester JM won it all too.
Tonka beat Chan in double OT, sounded like a helluva game. I guess a bunch of the Tonka players are from Chan too, so I’d imagine it’s a pretty heated rivalry.

Minnetonka only lost 2 games all season, and 1 of them was to Chanhassen back in December. Chan only had 3 losses all season. Whoever won that game last night was going to be the top overall seed in the state tournament and a favorite to win class AA. Just a few days before, Chan beat EP in OT in the semifinals too.
The final two teams have advanced to St Paul tonight.
Class A
Orono
Class AA
Hill-Murray – they beat Gentry 3-0.

There a big difference between a high school sporting event and a professional team.So just think, if you were not on the original list of those that were given the opportunity to buy the tickets dirt cheap, you basically have no chance to go. So those who were somehow lucky enough to get the original season tickets, like 30 years ago, have had a monopoly ever since and into the future.
This is a high school event. My taxes and everyone’s else go to support the MNSHSL, but yet don’t have a chance to go to the games.
So back in 2018 when I petitioned the MNSHSL to allow 250 or 500 new tickets a year, I was basically told that the folks from Norther Mn make this a yearly family event and they have no interest in changing this. I was also told that there are a few tickets each year that get returned by the high schools and these go on sale the night of the games at the box office. So I replied, so I live in Rochester and I should make hotel reservations and then go stand outside in the cold and hope I am lucky enough to get one of the few tickets available!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Incorrect.
The MSHSL does not receive state funding directly (aka our tax dollars). It’s primary revenue streams are state ticket sales, broadcast rights, and sponsorships.
The MSHSL is also dead broke.
I’m not really a fan of this ticket process either, just sorting out facts though.
All correct
I will also add that people need to think this through. If you eliminated the season tickets, then Ticketmaster will just do what they always do as a monopoly.
Tickets would go on sale and the scalper sites that are given back door access by Ticketmaster would scoop up all the best tickets in .005 seconds. They would them put them on reseller sites at vastly inflated prices.
Also you have to understand the pressure MSHSL is under not to mess with the tournament. Politicians and business interests are both highly concerned that nobody messes with the economic boost that IS the tournament. And just to pull off the tournament, the hsl needs these business groups to be on board because of the need for large blocks of hotel rooms and other logistics that they provide.
Believe me there have been board members who “wanted to shake things up” but they quickly find out that you can’t make everyone happy and there are a lot of deeply entrenched interests at stake.
Here are the brackets for the state tournament which starts on Wednesday.
As expected, Warroad and Minnetonka are the top overall seeds in each class.
How is everyone watching from their computer? Maybe my office is blocking something but I have watched it in the past.

I think the stream is down right now. Luverne is probably happy about that, tough start for them and all the Hermantown haters
I’m watching ity on dish channel 45 KTSV or something like that.
Germantown is up 3-0 and that was at the 9 minute mark of the 1rst period
It’s working for me. Must have been on commercial or something.

Cathedral played pretty well against Warroad in that first period.
St. Cloud hung with them for 2 periods. Warroad gets a empty netter for a 5-1 final.
