Made it out for our annual ice fishing trip in SD. Didn’t have an option on the weekend, so we had to battle the cold weather. Unfortunately we had to waste a good part of Friday with truck issues, but the good people at Cal’s towing and Twin Valley Tire in Webster were able to get me going by 3:30. Also can’t forget Ryan from the DNR for towing me back to the access. Thank you all!!
We found some active walleyes this weekend and caught about 50 walleyes for the weekend. Most in the 14-16.5 range. Also had some giant gills!! They were slow, but had about 9 of them over a pound. It was a morning and evening bite on the eyes. Unfortunately we were not able to go to hard for the perch, but hole hopping in 40 below wind chills doesn’t work too good. Hopefully I can get out there in warmer conditions and get that done yet this winter.
