I hit the lake with my father-in-law and brother-in-law this past week. We certainly didn’t knock ’em dead. The ‘eyes have gone deeper and up into the river. I wasn’t set up for the deep run, and we just wanted some eaters to have a fish fry at the cabin. We were able to manage enough walleye to feed the group but it took more work than I had hoped. We trolled cranks in 8 to 14 feet of water. If you head up to the lake, think about going deeper. If you’re not a lead core runner, consider switching over to bottom bouncers with live bait and get down in the 24 to 36 foot stuff. Either that, or head up the river. Good luck out there guys!
