Had a great day Saturday morning on the river by Verdel. Backed the boat down the ramp at 8:00 and about slid into the river. There were two boats in ahead of me so the ramp had a thin glaze of ice. Fished a chartruese (sp?) jig with a white curly tail, tipped with a minnow on one rod and pink on the other.
About 8:45, hooked a nice 17″ male. Floated the same area again and missed one bite and had a fish come off at the boat. On the third float I had a nice 23″ smack my jig. Ended with one more float, caught another 17″ and a 16″.
Great day on the water. Dad’s b-day is next Saturday, so fresh walleye will be on the menu.
